A month later

Jadeis was now settled into her human life. She swam in her private beach everyday since the girls became half human half mermaid. She looked for Kai and his pack, but never found him. It had been a long time since Jadeis and her pack had seen the boys. Jadeis gave up hope. She was done and she summed it up that they went home and they weren't coming back.

Jadeis had not seen the girls since the end of their summer adventures. She missed them so much that she went out and bought a dalmatian puppy. Her puppy was cute and had no spots yet. Her name was Ocean. Today was a nice warm day and Jadeis was excited because Aria and Tael would be spending a few days here with her.

When Aria and Tael arrived in Oceanside they could barely contain their excitement. Using their silent communication they talked about how happy they were that they would be reunited with Jadeis. Aria silently wondered about Raen. He had been on Aria's mind since the last time she had seen him.

Jadeis came out to her front yard to see the girls. Hi girls! I've missed you both so much! Said Jadeis as she rushed over to them to hug them. We have missed you too Jade! Said Tael. It's been like forever! Said Aria.

That night

All three girls had a great day together. They reminisced their summer together. Jadeis? Yeah Ari? Have  the boys come back? Aria asked in a hopeful tone. Yeah what about them? Asked Tael. Oh girls. Said Jadeis is a sad voice. No. I gave up searching for them because they aren't coming back. It seems they went home. The girls hugged then and decided not to mention the boys ever again. It hurt too much.

Midnight

All the girls and Ocean sat on the beach on the cool sand. The beach was perfect tonight. The weather was still warm, the ocean's roiling was so relaxing. Look at all the stars girls. Said Jadeis. Beautiful. Said the girls. After that they went to bed.

This weekend together passed by quickly. It was filled with swimming and midnight chats, laughing, laying under the moon and stars on the beach. Jadeis?! Yelled Aria from the back porch over the water. Jadeis and Tael and even little Ocean went running to Aria. Look girls! Yelled Aria. What is it Ari? Aria held up their Mermaid book. Jadeis frowned. Sweetie what are you doing with that? I keep it in the chest at the foot of my bed for a reason. Aria held up all three lockets in her other hand. Jadeis knew where Aria was going with this and she knew it wouldn't be good for Aria. I'm going to make a new wish for us to be Mermaids again. Stated Aria.

No you aren't Ari. Said Jadeis. Don't you want to go back to the summer Jade? Sure it was the best summer, but we don't belong in the Ocean. Yes we do! I'm going to make this happen for us Jadeis. Jade tried to grab the book, but Aria was faster and she tossed her wish into the secret compartment.

Oh Aria I love you, but I hope your wish doesn't come true this time. Said Jadeis in a huff as she stormed upstairs to her room. Jade is mad Aria. I think you should go apologize to her. Said Tael. Tael I'm not ever going to apologize for what I want and for what I believe in. Said Aria. I know why you made that bad wish Aria and it's really uncool. Said Tael. Oh really and why did I make that wish? Yelled Aria as she jumped off the bench and stomped over to Tael. One word Raen. Said Tael in a cold tone. Ugghh! Yelled Aria as she ran down the porch steps that led to the ocean.

Jadeis came downstairs to see only Tael and Ocean cuddling on the swinging bench on the back porch. Tael where is Aria? We had a fight and she's in the water. Tael said while pointing to the beach. Oh god no. Said Jadeis. What is it Jade? Asked Tael. That wish she made. She is now in the water and I think she's no longer a human. What? No! Yelled Tael as she ran down the stairs. No Tael! Yelled Jadeis as she grabbed her. Why Jadeis? We need to find her! Cried Tael. I know T, but remember Aria made that wish for ALL of us. If we go into the ocean we will turn too. Jadeis didn't know what to do. She realized that their Mermaid book that always seemed to know everything so she grabbed it.

After checking the first few pages of the book. When Jadeis turned the page she saw a picture of Aria swimming. Oh Ari. Below the picture was an incantation of sorts.

Wow. Mermaid language is really complex. Jadeis said the words in the book and nothing happened. What did I say it wrong? Jadeis tried it again, but nothing happened.

The wish must be removed before the incantation won't work.

Jadeis laughed as she hadn't even thought about the wish. She grabbed her and Tael's lockets, but Aria's was no where to be seen. Oh no no no! Aria took it dammit!

Jadeis couldn't open the wish compartment without the third locket. Aria knew that and so she was smart to take hers. Tael! Yelled Jadeis. Yeah Jade? I have to get Aria's locket to end this. I need to go and find her in the water. Great let's go! Said Tael. T I need you to stay here with Ocean. Said Jadeis. What? So now you and Aria get to go off and be Mermaids? Without ME? This isn't like this summer. This is not a fun adventure. I have to get her locket and come remove her wish. Then there is an incantation to say to make her come back and be half human again.

Tael just shook her head. Jadeis thanked her as she ran down to the water. Tael watched Jadeis shift into a full mermaid. She could sense where Aria was and decided not to listen to what Jadeis said. She put the puppy in the house and then ran fown to the ocean practically salivating at the chance to be a full Mermaid again.

Teal swam fast and soon she could see Jadeis talking to Aria. Teal hid in a tall kelp patch so Aria and Jadeis wouldn't see her. Jadeis grabbed Aria around her wrist and took her locket. Jadeis please don't do it please! Begged Aria. Sorry Ari. Time to go back home. Said Jadeis. I'm not coming back even if you undo my wish I will still be half Mermaid. Said Aria. Yeah yeah Ari we will see. With that Jadeis left.

Once Jadeis climbed up to her porch she didn't see Tael. Teal!!!!! She yelled, but she knew where Teal was now. It's time I get my pack back.

Teal what are you doing here? Asked Aria. Jadeis wanted me to stay, but I really miss this. Me too Tael. I just wish that Jadeis' Mermaid self would set in so she could see the life we are giving up! Said Aria.

Jadeis said the incantation and Aria came flying through the air. She stood right in front of Jadeis. Oh nice trick Jade really. I'm going back. I love you Jadeis, but please don't stop me. Aria had gotten to the water, but when she tried to go in she couldn't. It was a spell from the book. Aria ran up to Jadeis. What did you do? Jadeis didn't answer her though. Just then Tael came flying in the same way Aria had. Sorry girls, but I placed a spell so that you cannot enter the ocean until I remove this wish.

Jadeis open the secret compartment. She told the little piece of paper that had Aria's wish on it. It was over. Sorry Ari. I really am, but we chose. With that Jadeis went inside with the book and lockets. What is she going to do with our book? Asked Aria. I don't know. Said Tael. They ran after Jadeis to her room. When they got there they saw Jadeis place the book and lockets in her trunk and lock it. Jadeis that's ours. You can't keep it from us! I am the leader of the pack, and it's my responsibility to keep you both safe. No matter what.

It was officially over. Their Mermaid days were done and locked away in an old box.

Jadeis I am sorry for doing that. Said Aria. Me too Jade, sorry. Said Tael. Thanks girls. I'm sorry too. They hugged and everything between them was alright again. Soon it was time for the girls to leave for home. Jadeis was sad that they were leaving, but she knew they would see each other when they could. The bond between the three girls was as vast and as deep as the ocean.
