Ch.3 "Humble Beginnings"

Class at Duel Academy was like classes in any other school. Long and boring but when it's time to duel, everyone remembers why they love this school. Though for others..it's a different story. Ours starts with Syrus losing his 6th duel in a row which put him at a failing grade. He looks at his brother Zane who only looked down on him and left shaking his head. Syrus' fellow Slifer Reds felt bad for him, well...all but one

Rosie: Psh of course that idiot lost. He has no skill in this game.

Blair: Hey cut him some slack! At least he got the guy down to 1,000

Jaden: Rosie we have to make Sy feel better about his skills so he can succeed. Sure he's failing but he can get better

Dante: His deck is great but he's not dueling with confidence. He just needs to work harder.

Syrus had his head down and focused on the words Rosie said about him. He was on the verge of tears and not wanting to embarrass himself more he walked out before anyone saw him

Syrus was crying to himself in the hallway as the sound of a set of feet coming towards him

Syrus:*sniff* Jaden I just want to be left alone...*sob*

Dominic: I may not be as friendly as Jaden but I won't leave a crying friend.

Syrus looked up seeing Dominic extending his hand towards him

Syrus: Dom? Why are you here?

Dominic: I saw you walk out Syrus. You were close to tears so I thought I would try and find you.

Syrus takes Dominic's hand and he helps him up off the floor

Syrus: Thanks but I don't think you should help a dope like me..I just get so nervous that I end up making wrong moves and sometimes I can't even read my cards! And what Rosie said about me...she's right.

Dominic: The angry girl? Isn't she your friend?

Syrus: No, she's no ones friend. She always complains that she should be in Obelisk Blue and everyone has it out for her!

Dominic: So she's being petty she was put at the bottom with the rest of you. Hmph you know I felt the same way when I was going to be put in Ra Yellow

Syrus: You were gonna be in Ra Yellow?

Syrus imagines Dominic in a yellow coat and starts giggling at it

Dominic: Yes yes I didn't like yellow and I felt Obelisk was where I belonged. So I showed my worth by dueling two teachers at once.

Syrus: Whoa two?! I could barely beat just one!

Dominic: I had determination and the will to push on Syrus. I didn't care what others thought because I knew I was worth more than a Ra. You need to know your worth and that little girl needs to know her place.

Syrus: Dom you don't have to do that for me!

Dominic: It's what Obelisks do. We torment..!

Domimic flicks his coat and turns around to walk back to class

Dominic came back into class and took his seat next to Alexis and stared down Rosie, eyeing her deck. Class soon ended and everyone left to go talk and have a bite to eat

Alexis: Why are you looking at her like that?

Dominic: I think it's time to reveal my might to everyone at this school. And to give Syrus some motivation.

Alexis: I don't think that's a good idea.

Dominic: Shut it or you're next.

Alexis shuts up and watches as Dominic goes over to Rosie and slam his hand on her desk
