A NIGHTMARE INTERRUPTED:part 1

CHAPTER SIX

- Today Is Saturday And I’m not feeling good at all,I must be ovulating.I have abdominal pains and I feel like vommiting.Granny Wakes Me Up From The couch and The hurt I see on her face breaks my heart.

Granny:Kayise

Granny:ulele lah (You Slept here)

Me:Yes gogo I was watching a movie then I fell asleep

Granny:aww okay Siya emall today ne (we are going to the mall okay)

Me:Yes I didn’t forget

(Wake up and bath then,I have taken a bath already,When you done run the bath for Amahle too)

Me: Okay I will

- I fold my gown and take it to Granny’s room along with the pillow,I take a bath and I Notice it hasn’t made much of a difference I still look Crusty.I make my way out of the bathroom and head to Granny’s room.I decide to wear my black jeans and White off shoulder top with my white sandals,I tie my hair in a pony and I wear a headband along with the watch Mpilo bought for me on my birthday.i look simple but nice.I go back to the bathroom and Run the bath for Amahle the powder soap is finished so I use our dishwasher to make foam in the water for her.I find her In the Dining room eating her porridge.

Me:Mahle

Amahle:Mmmm?

Me: When You finish Your Food Go Bath Ne your water is ready

Amahle:Okay

Me:granny!!!!

Granny:yini Kayise? (what Kayise?)

Me:What’s this money for?

granny: Eyiphi? (which money)

Amahle:mama said when we go to the mall you slippers her

- Amahle Is done bathing and I make her wear black Leggings and A high and low shirt with her sandals,granny plait her hair so I just brush it and put a headband around her invisible hairline.She Looks Cute.granny is dressed too so we leave the house.we take a taxi to West Gate Mall cause it’s the nearest mall to us.We make our way to Pick n Pay and I read the grocery list to granny as we walk down the isles.Amahle is sitting in the trolly quietly.The trolly is not Full like other families trolleys but its better then nothing.After the long lasting shopping at the grocery store we make our way to Mr.price I buy sis Tumi her slippers and we assume she wears size 5 after paying for them We make our way to the pie store and we sit down

Granny:nifuna amapie Anjani? (which pies do you want)

Me:Chicken Curry please

Amahle: Cheese pie for me

- We wait for our pies as we converse lightly

Me:All is well gogo my exams are approaching soon so that’s what I’m trying to focus on more

- as I’m about to answer a lady brings our pies and I’m saved.I immediately shove my pie in my mouth to avoid answering her Question.i mean how can she ask me such a question while she knows our situation at home.We barely afford to buy groceries for R1000 and now she wants me to go to my matric dance.Id obviously like to go to my matric dance but The expense is too much,My Dress,My Nails,My hair, Transportation how will she afford all that.Id like to go for my matric dance but If it means granny must be in debt then no I’ll have to miss it.We Finish eating and we make our way to the taxi rank.these plastics are heavy yet there aren’t any heavy items in them.The ride home is fast and efficient.When we get home I wipe the fridge and granny wipes the cardboards, We unpack everything and granny goes to the sitting room to read her magazine and I go her room to take a nap.i must have been sleeping on my side for too long because my ribs hurt now.Im woken up by some Kissing my forehead,When I open my eyes it’s Linda,I immediately jump up and give her a hug.
