"She came over, didn't she?" Aunt May asks as she brings a pan to the stove. She never fails to surprise Peter with how easily she catches on to things. Sometimes he believes she must have some type of superpower like Y/n with how she reads his mind or sneakily observes things.
"Well I'm telling you now," Peter mutters and leans against the counter, flipping through his textbook.
"So you two already revealed your identities to each other?" she asks. He nods in response and leans on the palm of his hand. "How cute," she coos in a teasing manner.
"May, it's not like that," he groans. As much as Peter loves May, the constant teasing especially when it comes to girls can be so embarrassing and honestly tiring.
"Then explain why your favorite sweater and one of your suits are gone," she turns around and raises an eyebrow at him in suspicion.
He looks at her completely taken aback, his jaw-dropping in the process. "T-That's, uhm I-I. I took them to dry cleaners, yup, and they got stained," he nods to himself proudly.
"Right, so you call her a dry cleaner now?"
"N-No! What? Of course not, Aunt May!" he whines and places his pencil down, crossing his arms.
She stifles a laugh and shakes her head, "I'm just glad you're moving on from MJ. You don't need that kind of stress babe."
"I-I know, speaking of which. We're on better terms now."
"That's great, have you guys talked lately?"
"Actually yeah, and she," he pauses for a moment to debate if he should tell Aunt May about the conversation he had with MJ. "I'm not sure if I should tell you what she told me exactly, but she opened up to me."
"That's really good honey. I'm sure that gave you both more closure. Right?"
"Definitely," he nods his head in agreement. "We caught up as well, I told her about Y/n and how patrols were. She told me about her art and stuff. It was nice."
"Y/n?" she replies.
Peter remembers he hasn't told her your name yet and mentally groans. He tends to leave or the most important details. He sighs and taps his pencil, "That's Esprit."
"What a pretty name," she teases. "Anyway, I'm really happy to hear that. Look at you, I'm so proud," May hums happily. Peter smiles and nods, feeling relieved at her words of comfort. "So, are you going to explain the blood on your bathroom carpet?" she tastes a bit of the food she's making and scrunches up her nose in disgust.
"T-That oh," he rubs the back of her neck. "It's n-nothing, I just got hurt," he brushes it off and immediately regrets it as May sends him a piercing glare.
