"There's something you need to see..."

"...you're special."

"...Mimic..."

"Eren...key...basement..."

"Founding...Marley..."

Angharad stood frozen in the empty, black space, not quite sure where she was. She couldn't see anything in the darkness, squinting her eyes to try and make out something in the nothingness.

A knock on the door.

She turned around to see a door very similar to the one for her office at Scout Headquarters. She walked towards it and opened it to see it was her office. Her dark wood desk and her bookshelves filled with her files and paperwork. She could see the couch she kept in the corner for when Hanji came for a visit, though between her own duties as a Squad Leader and her titan research, those times were becoming rarer these days.

Another knock on the door.

She turned around to face the door again, though instead of opening it, she called out a timid "Come in". Grisha opened the door and walked in, closing the door behind him. He looked horrible, and his hair was a mess, as if he had continuously run his hands through it for hours.

"Grisha?" She felt herself move, reaching out to turn her older brother's face towards hers. She could see the tears he was holding back. "What's wrong?"

"I need to talk to you." His voice was hoarse, and scratchy.

"You can tell me anything." She responded. "I'm your sister, you can trust me."

"I don't know if you'll feel that way after I tell you what I've been hiding."

"Hiding?" She took a step back from him now. "Grisha, you're scaring me."

"You're 33-years old now." Her brother reached into his pocket and hid the contents behind his back. "You deserve to know the truth." Suddenly his voice was muffled, like he was talking to her through a wall. She could see he was talking, his mouth forming unrecognizable words.

"Grisha." She called out. She tried to move forward, to reach out to get his attention. But he was still talking. "Brother, I can't hear you." Her brother's figure then turned around, and suddenly she could hear his voice again.

"Do you understand?" His voice was shaky, and his gaze was ducked down, out of her sight. Angharad suddenly found herself talking without knowing why or where the words were coming from.

"Grisha." She gasped. "This is not the way."

"It's the only way." Her brother responded. "He will be humanity's greatest hope."

"Wouldn't it be easier to just tell him the truth?" The truth about what? What am I saying? "He's been through enough, they all have." Grisha knew she was referring to Mikasa and Armin, as well as his son.
