"Grisha," She gasped. "This is not the way."
"It's the only way. He will be humanity's greatest hope." Her brother responded.
"Wouldn't it be easier to just tell him the truth? He's been through enough, they all have." Grisha knew she was referrin...

For most new soldiers of the Scout Regiment, the first time outside the walls can be nerve wracking and maybe a little scary. The uncertainty and danger of the titans can cause even the toughest of men to shake with fear. For Angharad, her first time going back outside the walls only had her thinking "What the fuck am I doing here?"
She currently sat on her horse, flanked by both Mike and Erwin, Hanji sat in front of her, absolutely ecstatic about what was beyond the 50 meter stone monument before them. Her midnight black horse, whom she'd named Onyx, adjusted his stance, causing Ang to rock her hips to keep her balance. His drastically dark hair and mane only looking like the complete opposite to her own appearance. Onyx was a little on the bigger side, being both taller and buffer than Hanji's and Nanaba's horses, however she felt secure on his broad back, sitting equal height with Mike and Erwin.
"Calm down." Erwin said from her right. Ang turned to give him a confused glance. "Animals can sense when you're nervous or scared." She sighed in response.
"It's just...this is my first time outside the Walls since the Commander found me." She turned forwards towards the gate again. "I don't quite know what to fully expect." She leaned down to pet Onyx's neck to calm him down. Upon his owner's touch, Onyx snorted before settling. Hanji turned around to look at her.
"You'll be fine." Hanjin smiled at her, the calming effect washing over her at her friend's reassurance. "You'll have me and Mike with you." That was why she felt so nervous. She wasn't going to be able to watch over her other friends. She felt safe with Hanji and Mike, she trusted them completely, But Erwin would be alone with another squad, on the other side of the single-file formation.
"I know." She turned to Erwin on her right. "You be careful out there." Her brow was furrowed in endless worry. "Don't do anything stupid." She added.
"I'll be careful." Erwin simply responded. He sat up completely straight on his stark white horse. He kept his gaze forward, focused on the Commander and his coming orders.
"Thank you." Ang responded. She then turned to Mike, her platinum French braids whipping over her shoulders. "That goes for you too."
"We're gonna be together the whole time." Mike smirked at her mothering.
"I don't care. Don't go being a hero." She made to shove at his arm, but he leaned away from her, and smiled when she overreached and scrambled to right herself. The Commander's voice cut through the air, causing every soldier to snap to complete focus and sit taller in preparation.
"Open the gate!" Shadis yelled at the top of his lungs. The Garrison soldiers stationed at the exit cranked the gate open, the wood groaning underneath the chains. "Commence the expedition!" The thunder of hooves cut through the ambient air as they exited the gate. The sun's rays gleamed through the clouds, and the winds were slightly warm on her face. She breathed in the air, it smelled different than the air around HQ, cleaner. Mike seemed to agree with her as he turned his head left and right, taking in the different scents.
