Rue's sat in a corner with his arms crossed glaring at Daddy and Mommy. He kicks his feet releasing some of his pent-up emotions and releases a growl.Daddy's ears pick up the small noise and his head turns towards Rue. "Rue, face the wall," Daddy demands. "Please, baby."
Rue glares at his irritating captor. His body doesn't move an inch.
"Rue, Daddy said face the wall. Do it now," Mommy's authoritative and commanding voice manages to scare Rue into halfway facing the wall.
"Who do they think they are putting me in a fucking corner?!"
Rue's quiet seething is interrupted by strong pressure on his armpits.
"Little Prince, Daddy doesn't like making you sit in the corner but this is what happens to bad boys. You don't want to sit in the corner, right? All you have to do is be a good boy for Mommy and Daddy."
Daddy's warm breath spreading over Rue's face makes him want to seriously hurt Daddy. Rue settles for spitting his paci in Daddy's face.
"That is a no-no. We don't spit things at people. Tell Daddy sorry," Mommy says, smacking Rue on his exposed thigh. The sound resonates embarrassingly around the room drawing the attention of his curious siblings. The smack stung a bit but it wasn't enough to make Rue apologize.
"Baby, I understand that it's your first day and all of this is probably so scary and new, huh? We're not trying to hurt you, baby boy..."
Mommy's voice grows into a soft buzzing in the back of Rue's head. "Your breath smells like dog shit."
The reason Rue was even placed into the corner was that he threw a fit when it was time to change his clothes. They still couldn't understand how such a small and fragile thing like their baby boy could throw such a dangerous storm of a tantrum.

"Look at this shirt, baby boy. Aren't the colors so cool?" Daddy kneels in front of Rue to show him the blue and green ombré shirt. "My little one would look so handsome in it, yes he would.
Rue rolls his eyes and turns away from Daddy. He wasn't going to allow this man to change him so there wasn't a point in even looking at the clothes.
"You don't like this one, huh? That's okay, baby. How about this one, hm?"
Rue peeks at the outfit from the corner of his eye. A redshirt was dangling from Daddy's hand and blues overalls were in the other.
Rue's head turns back to Daddy to give him an incredulous look. His head falls back a bit as a scoff is freed from his mouth.
"Not this one either, huh? The next outfit Daddy pulls out you'll have to wear unless you help Daddy look for an outfit for his little prince."
Rue rests his elbows on his thighs and places his chin in his hands. He's trying to make it obvious that he doesn't care what this man says.
"You're really not going to help Daddy?" They both sit in silence until a sigh fills the room. "Fine, baby."
Nothing but silence fills the blue nursery until a loud dramatic gasp assaults Rue's ears.
"Baby, look at this! Daddy's baby would look so good in this, yes he would, oh yes he would!" Daddy's cooing does nothing but makes Rue's curiosity stronger until he peaks at the outfit.
