The chilly winter air made him shiver slightly, but he said nothing of it. His jacket was wrapped tightly around him, he had no reason to be cold.
He was waiting outside for Hoseok, who had forgotten his phone on their table.
The elder had told him that he could start the car first, so it could warm up and Taehyung could sit inside a warm car, but Taehyung had only shaken his head and urged Hoseok to go get his phone.
"Aish, I told you I should've started the car first," Hoseok frowned. He took off his coat and put it around Taehyung's shoulders, though the shorter protested.
"It's 20 degrees take your damn coat back!" Taehyung pouted, "You'll get sick!"
Hoseok pretended he couldn't hear the younger and skipped to his car, unlocking it quickly.
"You're a dick," Taehyung said once he slid in the passengers seat, crossing his arms.
"How so?"
"You just...are."
Hoseok took one hand off of the wheel to pat Taehyung's thigh, "I'm sorry you think that way. I sincerely apoligize for just being a dick."
Taehyung muttered something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like, 'You better be' and 'I should hate this'
The elder only grinned. He truly couldn't express how grateful he was, and how much it meant to him that Taehyung agreed even to see him as friends, let alone a date. Through the months without him, Hoseok realized how much Taehyung did for them.
It was inexplicable, the way they were all affected. Everyone's anger skyrocketed, always tense, annoyed, and frustrated. More so Yoongi than anyone, but his anger had always been through the roof.
Even Hoseok, their sunshine, was so angered at times that he was, more often than not, left alone, in fear that he would explode and hurt someone.
"What are you thinking about?" Taehyung asked quietly, "You seem tense. Are you okay?"
His knuckles had turned white, and he quickly tried to relax, "Y-yeah. 'M fine."
Not convinced, Taehyung squinted his eyes before hesitantly lifting his left hand and placing it on Hoseok's, the one that still rested on his thigh.
The smile that grew on Hoseok's face, and the way his whole body seemed to relax was well worth the embarrassment that coursed through his veins. But he didn't say anything, he looked out of the window to hide his face.
"So am I dropping you off at home?"
"Where else would you drop me off? The fucking moon?"
"Jimin's," Hoseok shrugged.
Taehyung's eyebrow rose, "Wh- Well, actually. That doesn't....I'm not opposed to that."
"Jimin's it is."
~~~~
Jimin was, understandably, suprised.
"As much as I appreciate this," He grinned, "I do have a friend coming over, and I'm not exactly sure how much you want to see them."
Taehyung shrugged, "Don't care. Missed you."
Jimin's face flushed, and he hid behind his small hands for a second before shaking his head, "I'm not the one that's supposed to be flustered," He whined.
"Hey," Taehyung pouted, "I can fluster you. Don't be mean."
"God you're so fucking cute," Jimin smiled, seemingly recovered. He grabbed Taehyung's hand and pulled him to the kitchen, "I'm guessing you had dinner?"
Taehyung nodded, "With Seok-Hoseok."
Jimin smirked, "C'mon, you don't have to be like that with me baby."
"But I'm...but he-ugh. Doesn't deserve nicknames yet." Taehyung muttered, resting his head on the cool marble counter.
"And I do?"
"Well yeah, you were the first one who even tried to talk to me about it. Well. Actually. I guess Hoseok was there too. Just- hush. I will be angry at who I want to be for whatever reason I want. I think I deserve that much at least."
Jimin sighed, "Whatever. Of course you can be mad, but don't be mad at Hoseok if you aren't gonna be mad at me."
"You want me to be mad at you?"
"No, but I don't think it's fair."
Taehyung was about to retort when Jimin's front door slammed open, and a familiar voice shouted, "Jimin?"
~~~~
Taehyung wanted to regret coming over, but he couldn't when all of a sudden he was pressed between Jimin and Namjoon on the former's couch, heart beating wildly out of chest.
He wasn't oblivious to the looks Namjoon was throwing him and Jimin, him basically on Jimin's lap.
"So..." Namjoon was frowning, "What....is that."
"Is what?" Jimin asked, arm naturally coming down to pull Taehyung closer before dropping his hand on the younger's thigh.
Taehyung felt something in his chest at the look that flashed across Namjoon's face. Something he had seen a million times.
He hated himself for the way his heart fluttered when he realized Namjoon was jealous. Namjoon hadn't done shit for him in a year, nothing. So why the fuck was his heart going crazy?
Not that he would let his emotions get the best of him, not again. If Namjoon wanted him back, he would work just like Jimin did. And Hoseok's currently doing. What he wished Yoongi would do.
What he wished they all did months ago.
He had done nothing wrong, he realized that after months and months of reassurance from his Hyung's, and as scared as he still was, he knew he had no reason to be. But that fear, the words that crawled back into his head, the threats he so clearly remembered Yoongi made. It made him feel worthless.
Nothing that happened had been his fault. He knew that.
But the words and actions of his ex-boyfriends, they broke him. His heart, slowly recovering, and now with the help of Jimin and Hoseok, still wasn't right. He wished, so desperately, that he could travel back and stop himself from going out. He should've just stayed home and cuddled with Yoongi.
"That," Namjoon pointed again, snapping him out of his own mind.
Jimin raised a knowing eyebrow, before intertwining his and Taehyung's hands, "This? My boyfriend?"
"Hey hey," He narrowed his eyes, "Nuh-uh."
"Soon-to-be boyfriend, sorry."
He snorted, but couldn't deny the red tint to his cheeks. It sounded nice, being Jimin's boyfriend again.
"What?" Namjoon frowned.
"Taehyungie here, my beautiful angel," Taehyung pinched him, yet Jimin only smiled and kissed his forehead, "Is giving me another chance."
"....you're kidding."
"You didn't figure that out when you saw me here?" Taehyung frowned, "Do you think I would be here if I didn't give him another chance? Why the hell would I be anywhere near him if I didn't?"
Namjoon shrugged.
Jimin tugged him a little closer before it went silent. The TV was loud yet somehow drowned out by the quiet.
"Would you give me a chance?"
