Chapter 4

I am going to look for Jaire when someone taps my shoulder. I turn around and the guy that kissed me is standing there.

Hudson smiles at me.

Hudson: hey

Me: Hey

Hudson: You are a good kisser

Me: Umm thanks?
Hudson: So do you want to do it again?

Me: Uhh not really

Hudson: Are you sure

Me: Yes

Hudson leans close to me and whispers

Hudson: Positive?

I push him back when someone steps in front of me. I look up and see it's Allen.

Allen: She said no. Take a hint

Hudson scowls and walks off. Allen turns to face me and he tucks a loose strand of hair behind my ear. I shiver.

Allen: Some guys are just so disrespectful

Me: yeah

It's still kind of awkward between us after the little fight and the kiss. 

Allen: I'm bored

Me: Same

Allen: Wanna watch tv or something?
Me: Sure

Allen places his hand on my back and I shiver but in a good way. He guides me to the living room and there is only a few people in here. We sit down on the couch and he's close to me but I just pretend not to notice. Allen turns the tv on and we watch the Bills vs Ravens game. I honestly don't care who wins, but I'd rather have the Ravens win because we would have a better chance at beating them in the super bowl than the Bills. It's tied 3-3 at halftime and it's been a pretty boring game so far. Then I feel Allen's arm against mine next to me and it feels electric. I try not to look at him and make it weird so I take out my phone and start texting my best friend, Nora. She lives in California and we have been best friends since we were 3. But when me and my family had to move to Green Bay, we drifted a little. We both didn't have phones then because we were 8 and I had missed her but I moved on. Then I got a phone later on and me and Nora started talking again. I got to visit her every year we went back to Cali for vacation. Anyways,

Me: Heyy

Nora: Hey bestie! What's up?
Me: I'm at a party rn, hbu?

Nora: Oooo lucky I'm just watching netflix. What party are you at?
Me: Oh just a place in Madison. The whole team is here to celebrate after the win.

Nora: Nice. Any cute guys?

Me: there's this one..

Nora: OMG WHOO

Me: I don't wanna say

Nora: PLEASEE
Me: I'll tell you later, gtg

Nora: ok you better. byee

Me: byee

I shut my phone off and look up to watch the game. Allen's arm is still against mine

Allen: Who is this guy?

Me: You were looking at that conversation?
Allen: Yeah

Me: No one. And why do you care?
Allen: Just wondering

I just smile at him and turn back to the game. Then Jaire walks in and plops himself down in between us.

Jaire: Sup my dudes

Me: hey Jaire

Allen: Hey bro

Jaire: ooo the game is on. i'm gonna watch too

Me: Ok

So we watch the game and it eventually ends, the score was 17-3 Bills. We get up and it's around 10:00 now. I yawn

Allen: Tired already?

Me: Yeah. When are we leaving?
Allen: Probably in a couple hours

Me: Why can't we just go now

Allen: It's a party, normally people leave around 12 or 1. 

Me: darn

I lean against the wall and I feel my eyes droop. Then I feel Allen's hands on my shoulders, holding me so I don't fall over.

I rub my eyes.

Allen: Lets get something to eat so you can survive the rest of the night.

Me: Good idea

We walk into the kitchen and my eyes scan all the food in the room. I decide to just get a cupcake. I take a chocolate one and Allen takes one and also some water.

We walk back into the living room and I sit down on the couch and incline my seat so I have a footrest. Allen sits down next to me. I eat my cupcake but I'm still feeling tired. I feel my eyes droop again.
Allen: you're still tired?
Me: Yeah, sorry

Allen: Don't be sorry. You can just take a nap now if you want

Me: Ok. Thanks Lizard

I hear him laugh 

Allen: You're welcome. 

I feel my head drop onto his chest and I feel my arms go around him. Then I feel myself drift off.

*2 hours later*

I feel someone tapping my shoulder and I open my eyes and yawn. Then I look up to see Allen and my head is still on his chest and his arms are cradling me.

Allen: We're leaving now

Me: Oh ok 

I stand up and stumble a bit, still tired. I blink my eyes and try to adjust to the light when Allen lifts me up into his arms and carries me through the house. People stare at us but I don't care, I just want to get back to sleep. We walk through the crowd and out to the bus. I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face in his chest. We walk into the bus and into a section. He sets my down gently on a couch and I lay my head on the pillow. I shiver and then Allen puts a blanket over me and tucks me in. I look into his eyes and he looks into mine. He tucks a strand of hair behind ear gently then whispers

Allen: Goodnight Layla

I barely process the words since I'm so sleepy but I still respond

Me: Night Lizard

He smiles and I smile back at him. Then I'm out again.
