note: this is an au where alex was actually in iowa visiting him mom and not leaving jo for izz*e and the freezer children
alex had come home 3 days ago and him and jo were happier than ever. they had both come home from work about an hour ago and were getting ready to go to sleep when jo came into bed and said she needed to talk.
as jo sat in bed, she took alex's hand and started talking
"so i never told you this, but i signed up to be a safe haven volunteer and while you were in iowa they messaged me saying that there was a baby to take to the hospital" jo said nervously.
"oh?" alex said as he put his phone down
"well when i went to the fire station and I was talking to ben and feeding the baby and... i fell a little bit in love with him." jo chuckled. "so you know naturally i.... stole him"
"wait what-" alex said, quickly intervening
"no no dont worry it was just for a few hours- I just wanted to him to have one cozy night and so i kept him here but dont worry link took us to the hospital before anyone could notice. And giving him to the social worker made me realize something. I want to start trying. if you want- if thats something that yo-"
alex interrupted her sentence with a passionate kiss. he had been ready to start trying as soon as they tied the knot but wanted to wait until she was ready. then when jo had met her birth mother all that was on his mind was making sure that jo was ok. after jo was getting back to her regular schedule they hadnt even talked about kids. but alex was so unexplainably happy hearing the words he'd longed to hear for so long.
"yes.yes yes we can start trying im ready." alex said with a reassuring smile as he carressed her face.
"really?"jo asked as she caressed his hand.
"yes. I love you jo. I cant wait to start a family with you."
"I love you too alex" jo said as she leaned in for another kiss.
alex took this opportunity to deepen their kiss.
" you want to start right now??" jo said as alex moved his attention to her neck.
"well i dont see why not" alex said as jo sunk into the bed.
