Chapter 5- Ben and May

I look over my shoulder to see Logan watching me. People are gonna think hes a stalker or something! Good thing he let me walk here on my own.

I go inside the building and walk to the office to get my timetable and find find my way around. Where ever that is.

 As I make my way through the hall ways I sense something near. I don't know what it is or why I can sense it.

#Chapter 5

"STOP!" I yell to an unknown boy. (Thank god mostly everyone has gone to class!)

His right foot is in mid air as he tries to balance on his left. His eyes are open wide from shock from me yelling at him. He doesn't move one muscle, not knowing what is happening.

I quickly bend down and pick up Charlotte onto my hand and stand up facing the boy who is still in his frozen position.

"You can move now." I tell him once Charlotte is safely in my bag. His muscles relax and he is now standing on two feet, letting out a deep breath.

<you ok Charlotte?>

<I’m fine!> 

I let out a breath as she is safely back with me. How did she even get here? I’ll ask her later.

We stand in silence, as none of us know what to say. This is probably the first time I have been close to a normal person in years. The Xavier Institute is 'Mutants Only' school.

While we stand here I look at the guys appearance. Brown hair, brown eyes and slightly tanned skin, he’s wearing a navy blue t-shirt, jeans, black and white converses and a bag over his right shoulder.

"I'm Ben." He says holding out his hand breaking the silence.

"Scarlett." I say shaking his hand. "I'm new here." 

"Welcome to Midtown High." He says making me welcome. "Did you drop something?" he asks referring to me yelling him to stop. 

"Um, well sorta." What else can I tell him? I can talk to spiders, make webs from my wrist and have come all the way to find spider man?! I think that's a bit much… I need to calm down.

"You almost stepped on a spider." I find myself saying. Nothing else I can say. 

"Oh. Well good thing you stopped me. I didn’t see it"  

"Yea." I say rubbing the back of my neck. 

It falls into an awkward silence as we stand looking in different directions. The guys back home were easy to talk to but this guy seems different. Duh his normal! 

"There you are!" says a girl walking up to us from the end of the hallway. 

Ben roles his eyes and turns to the girl. They look similar but she has more of a red tinge to her hair and wears glasses. She looks to be fourteen or fifteen. 

"What do you want May?" He asks her but she pushes past him. 

"I wasn't talking to you." She turns away from him and looks at me. "Hi, I'm May Parker and I have been told to show you around. You have already met my idiotic older brother." She nods to her Ben. 

He ignores the comment being called 'idiotic' and just shakes his head. So they are related, could see the resemblance. 

"Unfortunately you have most of your classes with him-" she hands me a sheet of paper with my classes on it."-but you should be able to get through them." 

I read the classes that the Professor has chosen for me… English, Math’s, Biology, PE(gym), French and Drama?! He seriously put me down for drama? Great. And I haven't spoken French in a long time! (I got bored and learnt it).
