A/N: So, the first couple chapters are pretty much the book except with a couple changes. I promise it'll get better. In the next chapter, it gets better as you get to meet a certain blonde...

On Sunday, Uncle Vernon was smiling cheerfully. As you brought tea from the kitchen. Uncle Vernon chuckled. "Sunday is the best day, do you know why, boy?"

"Because there's no post on Sunday."

"That's right, no bloody let-" as if on cue, a letter hit Uncle Vernon in the face followed by a storm of letters. You tried to lean down to grab a letter from the floor, but Uncle Vernon caught you by the arm and then grabbed Harry.

"Oh no, you don't." He threw you up the stairs and then threw Harry up after you. "Everyone, pack a bag. We're leaving" You darted up the stairs, Harry following.

*Time skip*

You smiled as Harry drew a birthday cake on the dirt floor. He looked at Dudley's watch. When it was midnight, you and your brother's birthday, he looked at you. "Come on, Y/N, make a wish with me." You blew out the "candles" with him. All of a sudden, there was a banging on the door that shook the entire cottage. You darted to a corner and Harry stood protecting in front of you. Dudley startled awake and Uncle Vernon came down holding a shotgun with Aunt Petunia cowering behind him. Another bang knocked the door down and a giant, hairy figure was outlined by a crack of lightning.

"Sorry 'bout that." The man put the door back where it used to be. He then walked over to Dudley. "Hello there, Harry. My you've grown. Mainly around the middle." He whispered the last part, chuckling. "Now where's your sister?"

"I'm n-not Harry," Dudley stuttered out.

"I am." Harry stepped out, pulling you along. "And here's Y/N, my sister." The man looked at you two.

"Ah, haven't seen you two since you were a baby. Oh, I've got something for the two of you." He brought out a slightly smashed box. "Might've sat on it once or twice, but I reckon it'll still taste good. Here you go." He handed the box to Harry and he opened it to reveal a birthday cake with Happy Birthday Harry and Y/N written on it with green icing.

You looked up. "Thank you, but who are you?" The man smacked his head.

"O, right. I haven't introduced myself. Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts."

"I still don't understand, who are you?" Harry set the cake down and sat on the couch. You followed him.

"Call me Hagrid, everyone does. And like I told yeh, I'm Keeper of Keys at Hogwarts- you know all about Hogwarts, of course."

Harry frowned. "Well- no." Hagrid looked shocked. "Sorry."

"Sorry?" barked Hagrid, turning to the Durselys. You flinched and Harry squeezed your hand. "It's them who should be sorry! I knew you two weren't getting your letters, but I didn't know that you wouldn't even know about Hogwarts, for crying out loud! Did you ever wonder where your parents learned it all?"

"Learned what?" Harry was confused. You had a guess, though you didn't say it.

"ALL WHAT?" Hagrid was yelling at the Dursleys now. "Do you mean to tell me that these kids know nothing about- about anything?"

"We know some things like math and stuff." Harry said. You nodded, not trusting your voice.

Hagrid just waved his hand. "About our world. I mean. Your world. Your parent's world.

"What world?"

Hagrid looked ready to explode. This is when Uncle Vernon decided to step in.

"No, I forbid you to tell them anymore!"

"Ah, shut up, Dursley. Harry, you're a wizard and Y/n, you're a witch."

"A what?" You and Harry spoke in unison.

"A wizard and witch of course; and thumping good ones, I'd say, once you've been trained up a bit. With a mum and dad like yours, what else would you be? I'd reckon it's about time the two of you read your letters." Hagrid handed each of you a letter.

Dear Ms. Potter,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.

Yours sincerely,

Minerva McGonagall

"They're not going." Uncle Vernon was pale, but looked angry.

"I'd like to see a great Muggle like you stop them."

"A what?" You were grateful that Harry had asked the question.

"A muggle, it's what we call nonmagic folk like them." Hagrid gestured to the Dursleys..

"We swore when we took them in that we'd stamp it out of them! Put a stop to that rubbish."

"You knew? You knew that we're- we're a witch and wizard?" Harry was mad.

"Knew?" Aunt Petunia was shrieking and you flinched. "Knew! Of course we knew! How could you not be, my dratted sister being what she was? Oh, she got a letter just like that and disappeared off to that-that school- and came home every vacation with pockets full of frog spawn, turning teacups into rats. For my mother and father, it was always Lily this and LIly that, they were so proud of having a witch in the family. I was the only one who saw her for what she was-a freak! Then she met that Potter at school and they left and got married and had the two of you, and of course I knew'd you be the same. Just as strange, as abnormal, and then she went and got herself blown up and we landed with you two."

Harry had gone white. He found his voice to say. "Blown up? You said they died in a car crash!"

"CAR CRASH!" roared Hagrid and you squeezed Harry's hand. "How could a car crash kill Lily and James Potter?"
