It was sunrise when Aether made it back to Mondstad.

"Honorary Knight, your back"
Aether turned around to see Jean standing behind him with Klee following behind her, Klee's facial expressions weren't as cheerful as they usually are...
"Solitary Confinement again?" Aether asked the small blonde behind Jean
"Yeah..." Klee replied. "Klee I've told you may times before if you stop blowing up the fish in Starfell lake then you wouldn't be in solitary confinement as much as you are." Jean explained with a stern voice
"I'm sorry Master Jean" Klee replied

Aether fell silent, so did Jean and Klee, it was an awkward silence until aether broke it.

"Say Klee, how about I keep you company while your in solitary?" Aether asked, the young girls face lit up with her usual cheerful expression.
"You would do that!" Klee said excitedly
"Yes I really don't mind, I have nothing to do anyway"

Jean looked at aether with a worried/confused expression "Aether are you sure you want to do this?"
"Like I said I don't mind" Aether said with a smile
"Alright, let's get you into solitary" Jean said as they walked off to the knights of favonius headquarters,

"Make sure Klee doesn't burn the place down Aether!" Jean said on the other side of the door
"I will!" Aether replied back.

"Okay, Master Jean is gone so I can ask you questions now!" Klee said to the blonde boy sat in front of her, "And who said you could do that?" Aether replied with a smirk on his face

"Klee is allowed to ask questions since I am an official knight of favonius and you aren't really" Klee said back to Aether with a smile on her face

"Ask away then" Aether said waiting for Klee to ask her first question.
Klee fell silent for a hot minute before she came out and said with a straight face "Are you getting married big-brother Aether?"

Aether looked at her with wide eyes, what had she just said to him, and getting married to who?!
"Who said anything about me getting married to someone?!" Aether asked Klee now making her confused.
"A bard named Venti told me that the wind has said that you were dating someone and that you would be getting married" Klee explained to aether who was now annoyed
"That tone-deaf bard" Aether whispered sternly so Klee wouldn't hear
"Klee, I'll be honest I am dating someone that lives in Liyue but marriage isn't something on our minds yet" Aether said to Klee with a smile making Klee more confused
"So, your not coming back to Mondstad if you do marry this person?"

Aether did mention 'someone that lives in Liyue' but he didn't think Klee would take it like that.

"Of course not! Besides when I do get married, or if I decide to you'll be a big girl by then"
"So you'll come back?" Klee asked, to aether it looked as if she was about to cry

"Yes, I will come back don't worry" Aether replied and Klee smiled back
"How long are you staying in mondstad for?" Klee asked her second question, Aether didn't want to upset the young girl but her had to be honest with her, "I'm sorry Klee but I'll be leaving tomorrow I have to get ready to go to Inazuma"
"Do you have to go!" Klee said now tears were forming, I guess Klee really didn't want to say the traveller goodbye
"But don't worry as soon as I'm finished in Inazuma I promise to come back and visit" Aether said as he wiped Klee's tears away.
"Pinky promise?" "Pinkie Promise" Aether replied as he got up to leave solitary.
"Oh and Klee, if I ever do decide to marry this person who Venti told you about I promise to invite you" aether said before he left, Klee's head shot up from looking at the floor "Klee would really like that!" She replied back with her usual big smile

Aether left mondstad after finishing his duties and headed back to Liyue (Wangshu inn) to meet back up with a certain someone

"Your back"
"Yeah, it's a long way here from Mondstad" Aether replied to the voice, it was pretty dark but her knew who it was that he was talking to.
"We'd better get inside, Hilichurls and abbys mages are highly active at night and it looks as if its about to rain" Xiao said with his voice softer than normal "yeah, I can't afford catching a cold" Aether replied back to Xiao with a small laugh.

"So how was it back in Mondstad?" Xiao asked staring outside at the pouring rain, he was right I was about to rain "As it usually is, nothing different" Aether replied as he came out from the bathroom in comfortable clothing since his usual attire was wet from the rain "Although I was asked a weird question by one of the kights, Klee" Xiao turned around to look at Aether as if to say 'go ahead I'm listening'
Aether hesitated a little but finally spoke up "She asked if I was getting married to someone since a certain Bard had told her what the wind had told him" Xiao's face was as confused as Aether's was when he first heard the question "And you said?" Xiao asked "I simply told her that I was dating someone, I didn't say who! but I also made it clear that marriage wasn't something on our minds" Aether was stopped by Xiao saying "Yet" as he let a small smile show on his lips "Xiao... don't say things like that" Aether whined as Xiao walked over and pulled him into a hug "Aether, you know some time in the future I'll be ready for the next step and when I am I'll wait for you" Xiao whispered softly so no one would hear though the walls since they were as thin as paper "You'll know I'll be ready Xiao, it's just a matter of time" Aether looked up at Xiao and kissed him, caught Xiao off guard for a second but returned to kiss "Now let's go to bed I'm tired"
"Alright then sleepyhead" Xiao said back to Aether as he left a kiss on his forehead and carried him to bed
