I started to wonder where he was, he had been gone for a very long time. I reached up to feel my neck, the wound was tender but not hurting. I wanted to get up but my bonds were very secure. Beginning to doubt he would come back, worry set it's icy fingers in my heart. The water from the bathroom stopped, the door was then pushed open.

Carefully walking over he untied the rope that bound me, and looked at my neck with a smile. He rubbed my wrists to ease the memory of strain that was marked with red sensitive skin. Looking at my neck numerous times, making his red lips curve upwards ever so slightly higher with each glance.

"W-what are you-u staring-g at?" I was confused with the tremble and stutter in my voice, I convinced myself it was probably shock.
"My mark of ownership." I looked at him oddly showing my confusion and displeasure and the phrase. "Every angle that has fallen from grace leaves a mark after drinking, we live on earth with the old true laws of the first ones, marked ones blood belongs to the owner, no others, benevolent or unruly can claim any part of a marked one. But as the one marked must quench the masters thirst, the master must provide protection and care."

I sat there puzzled and thought about why he was no longer in heaven, it scared me to think about what he might have done. He could have killed or worse. I couldn't trust him, but the way he cared so much made me doubt he would hurt me. So he was now my master? I looked up from our interlocking hands to his blue eyes. His hand left mine and tucked a lose strand of hair behind my ear. Smiling nervously, I went to look back down but my chin was caught by his hand. Tilting my hand back up he leaned in and connected my lips with his. It was quick but I felt loved.

"So you are an angle, I thought you were a vampire."

"Same thing" he smiled. "We cast ourselves out of heaven, we wanted to help the humans our father had created. He refused to let us go but we believed we could show him what we could do, he'd forgive us. But as we reached earth our wings blacked and bode from our once Snow White, strong wings." He sighed and his eyes held memory. "We used to fly for hours on end, short flights are all we can achieve now. The humans we came to help where evil and rejected us. They believed we were demons as our wings had changed to the colour of sin. We learned to hide but still try to help in small ways."

"They killed so many of us. Few remained, we tried to go back and be with our father, regain our wings, our light. When we called no answer came. We were left alone, truly alone. As we abandoned our father in heaven he punished us, we had to hurt the humans we once loved to live." His eyes been to tear up. He sighed again and backed off of me. "So you have wings?" I asked tentatively. He looked back and smiled at me, it was a broken smile. He missed the pure white they had once been, when they were once so strong. "I do, you want to see them don't you?" I smiled and nodded. He got up and removed his shirt. His back arched fiercely, he clinched his fists and his face contorted in pain. Wings began to sprout from his shoulder blades, he groaned in obvious discomfort.

His wing were beautiful, blacked but the white that was once there was visible near the bottom.

He then ran up to me and grabbed my wrist, which stung a lot but I hissed though the pain. He pulled me down the stairs, to a large room with large glass double doors leading to the black outdoors.

He tugged and we ran to them, with a trust he opened them, the cold air hit my skin. He began running faster and faster. I couldn't keep up.

"Come on! At this rate we'll never pick up enough speed to take off!"

"TAKE OFF!" I yelled, I tried to slow down but his grip was too strong. His wings spread out, and I closed my eyes. I felt weightless and free. Slowly opening them again, just a peek, I saw the night sky. I heard wings above me. My eyes opened and below me was the city's streets and lights shining brightly like the stars above us. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, in a long sigh. He laughed and looked down at me.

"Not that bad now is it?"
"It, it's wonderful!"
"I'll be careful not to drop you then."

I gave a look of despair, he then smiled with a light hearted chuckle and I pouted at him. He rose above the clouds and I reached out to touch one, not fully but rather wet. He then plummeted to earth.

"WOOAHHHHHH!" I screamed with a smile, my hands gripped around his tightly. His wings spread out and we slowed in our dissent. We were above a huge lake. I looked at the reflection of my angel and me in the water follow us. I loved this. I had no expectations, just this moment. It was perfect. We neared the bank, we slowed and became vertical, our feet hit the ground and we continued to run due to the speed of which we had been traveling. I tripped and sent him tumbling down on me. We rolled and we stopped, twigs in hair and dirt everywhere else.

We looked at each other then burst into fits of laughter. He was panting and looked very tried, that was probably a strain on his part, I wondered when he had last took flight.

He sat up and stretched his wings. Then a feather shone and gleamed, it was blinding, so much so I had to look away. When u looked back a once black feather was now pure white.
