ready for fairy school?▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
ROSALIE WASN'T a morning person, she was actually quite the opposite. She thrived better at night when her brother and father were asleep because it was the only time in her busy day that she was left alone to her thoughts. Waking up early proved to be a hard task for her, especially on this specific day.
She turned slightly in her bed, reaching onto her nightstand and grabbing her phone that sat on top of it. Unlocking the screen, she was instantly met with a reminder that popped up. Today's the day! Today you leave for Alfea! Realizing that this would be the last morning she'd be waking up in her own bed for a long time, she let out an unhappy grumble. This would also be the last morning she'd hear the same theme song to her younger brother's favorite crappy tv show.
"Will, turn that shit down before I shove the remote down your throat permanently!" Rosalie called out, her voice echoing through their three bedroom apartment. She waited a moment, her head slightly perked up in hopes that her threat would work. When she noticed no change in the volume from the tv, she threw her covers off, shoved her feet into her favorite fluffy bunny slippers and stomped out her room into the living room.
When Rosalie entered the living room she found her brother seated in front of the tv, a bowl of cereal in his hands and the spoon currently in his mouth. He smiled cheekily as he saw his sister, finishing his mouthful before he finally spoke. "Good morning, Sleeping Beauty. Ready for your first day at fairy school?"
Making her way over to her brother, Rosalie crashed onto the couch behind him, but not before whacking him on the side of his head. "Turn it down, asshole," She grumbled as she shoved her face into the couch, closing her eyes for a minute. Once he finally turned the volume down, Rosalie forced herself to sit up. "And it's not just fairy school, you'll be joining me in a few years when you start your specialist training."
Will groaned loudly, shoving her shoulder with his arm. "God, don't remind me. It's all dad can talk about, especially now that you're leaving," He shook his head, resting his head back against the pillow of the couch.
A small smile appeared on her lips as she sat quietly for a moment. "He's just going to miss me, that's all," Rosalie ruffled her brothers hair, before pushing herself off of the couch and in the direction of the kitchen. "Just like I know you're going to miss me, whether you admit it or not."
Just as she opened the door to the fridge, she heard the front door to their apartment opening, revealing her very sweaty father. He dropped his keys onto the table by the door along with his wallet, smiling as he saw his kids. "Rosie up before noon? Alfea already is changing you."
"Ha ha," Rosalie rolled her eyes, smiling over at him. "Morning dad," She called out to him with her back turned, currently busy making herself her morning cup of hot chocolate.
"Morning love," Harry Le Claire called out as he made his way into the kitchen, kissing his daughter on the side of her head before grabbing a bowl so he could pour himself some granola. Rosalie squirmed away from him, trying her best to avoid a sweaty hug she was worried he'd spring on her.
"Have a good run?" She questioned him, raising her mug to her lips. Her father nodded in response to her question. "I have to be at the gateway by noon, Dowling sent me the location."
Harry nodded his head as he turned to face her, resting his back against the counter. "Will and I will walk you there, I let him take the day off school."
"What?" Rosalie raised her eyebrows in protest. "You wouldn't let me stay off of school on the anniversary of mum's death but you let that shit stay off because I'm leaving? What are you going to do? Go celebrate with pizza after?"
"Rosie," Harry sighed, shaking his head slightly at his daughter. The three of them went quiet for a moment, before he spoke again. "You're leaving us today. You know that the only reason this household works so well is because of you. You think your brother is going to pack my lunch daily for work? I wouldn't trust him enough to let him."
"You wouldn't have to worry about it if you let us move back to the Otherworld," Will called out from the living room, now facing the two of them. "I don't even remember what it was like living there, and now we're living in the First World? It's so boring here."
"How can you know that it's so boring if you don't remember what it was like living there?" Rosalie questioned him curiously, her eyebrows raised as she took a sip of her hot chocolate.
"Because of the stories you've both told me," Will sighed dramatically. "Dad worked for the royal guard of Eraklyon, mum was a fairy assistant to the queen of Solaria, and you were best friends with a prince!"
"Don't speak about Sky," Rosalie warned her brother, shaking her head.
Will and Harry both furrowed their eyebrows. "Why can't we talk about Sky?" Will asked her. "Is it because you liked him?" He spoke in a sing-song tone as he teased his older sister, a smirk on his face.
Instead of reacting in an outburst of anger, Rosalie waved her hand. A spark of electricity shot out of it and hit Will, making him let out a howl of pain. "Dad, you said no magic in the house!"
Harry gave his daughter a secret high five, shrugging his shoulders at Will. "Sorry buddy, but you earned yourself that one. You know your sister has rules, it's best you follow them."
Rosalie shot her brother a deadly glare as she walked past the living room and back to her bedroom, before pulling her hair out of the messy ponytail it had been in since last night. She looked at herself in the mirror for a moment, Sky's name at the back of her head. "You can do this," She whispered to herself. "This is what mum would want, and this is your destiny."
