Breathe in.

Breathe out.

I huffed clutching my chest trying to keep the bird inside me from escaping. The bird being my heart which was chirping so loudly I thought the rest of the world could hear it too. I nervously looked around my room, mentally slapping myself for panicking- who would be in my room at this time of night? I brushed my fringes off my face and quickly straightened the crinkles of my skirt. Standing up, my eyes scanned the room again in case I forgot to pack something for tonight's event. I noticed his name printed on large letters and almost immediately a smile entered my lips.

Suho.

I smiled thinking of how much effort he put in to make my wish come true of a private engagement. I smiled thinking of how his cuteness made my heart flutter. I smiled even more thinking of the way my hand felt in his, the way my body fit in his when he hugs me, the way he does anything to get me to laugh- I gasped again, reminding my drifting mind to focus on tonight. I heard a knock on the door as my mother popped her head in telling me that the driver has arrived. My mother smiled, approaching me with her arms open, fully aware of my nerves without me having to tell her about it.

"Good luck." She whispered, kissing my forehead as she gently pushed me forward with my belongings. I nodded, my lips quivering as I walked downstairs. I saw my father at the bottom of the staircase, lost in thought. I smiled looking at his brows furrowed knowing that he was probably worried about me meeting Suho right now. He looked up as I reached the bottom and his face instantly brightened as he took me in his arms.

"I know that Suho will love it." I looked up into my father's reassuring eyes and felt myself relax. My parents helped me get my things into the car and as I drove off, I silently prayed to myself hoping that what my father told me actually happened.

The familiar streets came into view and I promptly asked the driver to stop the car a few miles away from the Kim Villa. I greeted the guard at the gate and asked for him to show me the window of Suho's room and he did so smirking at my attempt at an event.

I felt my phone beep as a message from Suho told me to meet him tomorrow. I smiled thinking of what he was doing now; changing? Having a shower? Or was he just lying in bed after having had dinner? I debated whether to call him or to text him, deciding on the second as my voice was not worth trusting at the moment. Before I could complete the message I heard my name from above.

"Chorong, what are you doing?" I looked up at him, cursing myself for taking too long. I held my hand up telling him to wait, as I rummaged through the bag looking for the paper. Finding the right one, I held it up for him to read:

"Seangil Chukka Hamnida." He read it out loud, giggling like a child who was given ice cream. I laughed along but stopped as I held the other board, remembering what was written on it. I felt myself redden as he read out "norul saranghae." My eyes peeked their way above the board to his window but were met with nothing. I smiled waiting for his hands to wrap around me and they did exactly that. I felt his lips on my ear as he muttered "nado saranghae."

I turned in his embrace and held his face in my hands. He planted a kiss on my forehead, on my nose but stopped at my lips knowing that I would not agree to a kiss a week before the wedding ceremony. He tightened his grip on me as he whispered "you truly are a rare girl, my purple hisbiscus."

I nodded and chuckled, taking his face in my hands and pressing my lips on his eyelids. His eyes flickered open as he attempted to bring our bodies closer as if it were possible.

"Remember when we first met," He gasped at the memory nodding for me to continue, "You became my unique, purple hibiscus at that time." I mumbled into his shirt as his arms tightened around me.
