Chapter 12: Students VS Teachers

Soon enough, we had Midterms. Aizawa-sensei explained how the Midterms were going to go. It was going to be two parts, the written exams and the physical exam. After hearing that, I figured it was basically going to be a harder version of the entrance exams. After all, the entrance exams were set up the same way, so why not? So I rolled in on Midterm day fairly confident, thinking I might actually have a chance to do well. When I took the written exams, I pretty much failed everything except English, but I was pretty much expecting that. 

However, when the written exams were over, I walked to the area where the physical exam was going to happen, and saw Aizawa-sensei sitting there with a smirk on his face that really worried me. That wasn't a I bet my students are going to do great smile, it was a I can't wait to see my students get wrecked smile. All of a sudden, the rest of the teachers stepped out of a doorway behind him.

"Okay class, I'm guessing you all assumed this was going to be like the entrance exams. Well you were wrong. This time you're going against opponents much stronger than you: us, the teachers." He said.

What? What the hell did he just say? Is he serious? This is not good. Shit shit shit shit shit!

"It's going to be teams of two students against one teacher. These are the order of the battles: Kirishima Eijirou and Sato Rikido vs Cementoss, Tokoyami Fumikage and Asui Tsuyu vs Ectoplasm, Iida Tenya and Ojiro Mashirao vs Power Loader, Todoroki Shouto and Yaoyorozu Momo vs myself, Uraraka Ochaco and Aoyama Yuga vs Thirteen, Ashido Mina and Kaminari Denki vs Principal Nezu, Jirou Kyouka and Koda Koji vs Present Mic, Shoji Mezo and Hagakure Toru vs Snipe, Mineta Minoru and Sero Hanta vs Midnight, and finally, Midoriya Izuku and Bakugou Katsuki vs All Might." Aizawa-sensei listed

We all stood in shock. Me and Mina against Principal Nezu? We were so screwed! Principal Nezu is practically the smartest person, (animal?) in the world, and me and Mina aren't exactly the brightest bulbs in the box. 

While I'm standing there, Present Mic comes up to me. He leans down and whispers, "Don't worry, I'll go easy on your girlfriend."

I turn bright red and whisper back, "She's not my girlfriend."

"Not yet" He replies with a wink.

I smile and agree, "Not yet."

Right after that, Jirou says, "Wait, I thought Mic-sensei was just an announcer. Can he really fight?"

Mic screeches, "Hey, I'm a Pro Hero too! Show some respect!"

He leans back over to me and whispers, "I take it back, she seems pretty tough. I don't think I even have to go easy on her."

I grin and respond, "Probably not."

Aizawa-sensei continues, "The student's can win one of two ways, either put these handcuffs on the teacher, or make it through the gate the teacher is going to be guarding. If you can't do either of these things before time runs out, your team fails. To make it fair, the teachers are going to wear four weights on their wrists and ankles. the weights have been specially made so all four of them together weigh half of what the teacher weighs. So for me, I way one hundred fifty pounds, so the weights are going to be seventy pounds. For All Might, who weighs five hundred and sixty pounds, the weights are going to be two hundred eighty pounds."

After that, we all go into a room with cameras watching the areas where the tests are going to take place. I don't really watch, I just wait until it's my turn. Me and Mina get ready.

"Okay, Principal Nezu is pretty small, right? So once we find him, I can just electrocute him, and then put the handcuffs on, right?" I say.

"Yeah, I probably shouldn't melt him." Mina replies.

We get ready to go, but once the starting bell rings, the buildings start to crash down around us.

What the fuck? How is that tiny mouse causing this much damage?

We run for a little bit, and find a place to hide for a second. "Can't you electrocute him?" Mina said, panicking.

"How the hell am I supposed to do that? I have no idea where he is!" I shoot back.

"Well then, let's just run for the exit!" She says, and we book it, but find our way blocked off. I grab Mina and pull her back just as she was about to be hit by falling metal. 

She yells, "This way!" and then she melts a whole in the building next to us. We start running through it, but it starts to fall down behind us the entire way we run. As soon as we make it out of the building, we hear the finishing bell ring, signalling our defeat. We walk back into the surveillance room with our defeat painted clearly on our faces.

I sit down in the back and watch the security cameras, watching Jirou's match. Jirou and Koda are talking, when suddenly Mic yells, creating soundwaves, leaving Jirou and Koda holding their ears. Once he stops, they run through the forest towards him and the escape gate. They hide behind a rock, and Mic starts yelling again. Jirou and Koda hold their ears again, and then Jirou puts her Earphone Jacks into her boots and sends out soundwaves of her own, counter-balancing out Mic's voice. However, this only works for a minute, and then his voice continues. She starts to bleed from her ears.

Jesus, Mic, I know you said you weren't going to go easy on them, but they might seriously go deaf after this.

All of a sudden, a massive swarm of bugs jumps out of the ground and attacks Mic. He panics, forgetting about his quirk and just yelling normally. He passes out, and the two students pass through the gate, Jirou being carried by Koda.

You better keep your hands to yourself, shy boy. I'm sure she could walk on her own. She doesn't need your hands all over her like that.

"Woah, Kaminari, what's the matter? You look pissed, and your sparking again." Midoriya said. 

"What? Oh, sorry." I said, turning off my sparks. I turned back to the cameras, but they were already on their way back here. Soon enough, Koda, Jirou, and Mic all walked in. I stayed sitting in the back, and glared at Koda.

"Really, Yamada-san? Defeated by bugs? That's pathetic." Recovery Girl said.

"Hey, you know how much I hate bugs! That's not fair!" He replied.

After that, Mic walks towards me and sits next to me. He turns towards me and says, "I bet you wish it was you who was partnered with her, not him."

"It's that obvious, huh? Yeah, yeah I do." I replied.

"I bet if it was you and her against either of the teachers you two went against, you guys would have won. She could have helped find Nezu, and you could have electrocuted me." He says.

"Yeah, but I couldn't do anything against Nezu. I still don't know how he defeated me. How the he- I mean how the heck can someone so small create so much destruction?" I replied.

"He was sitting in a crane in the middle of it all." Mic explained.

"What? So unfair." I grumbled.

"Well, you just have to learn from this, and make sure you don't make the same mistake." He said, before getting up and walking away.

I sat there as everyone finished up, and then at the end of the day, I went home.
