Stiles pulled up to my house after we had stopped at his house to pick up everything we needed for the full moon. I hate the full moon. It always makes me feel unsafe in my own house. I grabbed my backpack and Stiles grabbed the duffle bag as we made our way to the door. Stiles pulled out a key, making me shake my head. Of course he would have a key for my house. "Scott?" Mom called out as we walked into the house.

"Stiles." She gave him a weird look as she eyed the key but ignored it, walking over to me and kissing my forehead. I smiled at her.

"Key!" She pointed at the key in his hand, looking back at me. I raised my hands, shaking my head.

"Yeah. I had one made, so-" Stiles replied with a shrug.

"That doesn't surprise me. It scares me, but it doesn't surprise me." Mom said with a sigh as she grabbed her purse. She was leaving for the night shift at work. Stiles dropped the duffle he was holding and it hit the ground with a loud thud. "What is that?" She asked us with an eyebrow raised.

"Uh, school project." Stiles replied smoothly. He lied with so much ease that it almost scared me.

"Mmm. Stiles, he's okay, right?" She looked worried and I knew she was really worried about Scott. He had been acting weirder than usual and I was sure she noticed every bit of it. I knew everything going on with Scott and I was worried about him too. I could only imagine the worry she felt.

"Who? Scott? Yeah. Totally." Stiles' voice went a little high and I was sure my mom noticed but she didn't say anything.

"He just doesn't talk to me that much anymore, not like he used to." Mom replied quietly, looking back at me. She was really upset with all this. Scott and I used to talk to her about everything and now it just felt like all we ever did was lie to her.

"Well, he's had a bit of a rough week." Stiles shrugged. Both of us offered mom a small smile and she just nodded, needing to get to work.

"Yeah, yeah, I get it. Yeah, um - Okay, uh - Be careful tonight." She told us before opening her purse.

"You, too." Stiles and I commented at the same time as she fished for her keys out of her purse.

"Full moon." She continued to speak, breaking the silence that had filled the room.

"What?" Stiles and I yet again spoke at the same time. She couldn't mean... She couldn't possibly know... could she?

"There's a full moon tonight. You should see how the E.R. Gets. Brings out all the nut jobs." She said with a laugh as she made her way to the door. She gave my hand a squeeze, before opening the door. "You know, it's, um, actually where they came up with the word "lunatic."" Mom walked out of the house, locking the door behind her. Once she was gone, I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding. Stiles grabbed the bag off the floor as we headed upstairs to Scott's room. Scott wasn't home yet and Stiles wanted to get a head start on this whole lock up thing. We walked into Scott's room, which was pitch black, so I flipped on the light. Both Stiles and I jumped back as we saw Scott sitting in his chair in the corner of the room.

"Oh, my God! Dude. You scared the hell out of me." Stiles smiled as he walked into the room. I scratched my head.

"I thought you weren't home." I said in confusion. That's what he had told us.

"I came in through the window." There was something off with Scott, enough so that I stayed in the doorway. This full moon change was getting out of control.

"Okay. Uh, well, let's get this set up. I want you to see what I bought." Stiles knelt down, going through his bag. Stiles could tell that there was something wrong with Scott. I could hear it in his voice too.
