Eira Wynter stands in front of a set of see-through double doors, delaying the inevitable. A plaque sits next to the door with the name Winx written in fancy calligraphy. However, no matter how fancy, it does nothing to calm her nerves.

The room in front of her happens to be the suite she occupies for the next year and her heart flutters at the possibilities. Would she be friends with her suitemates? Is it a nice space?

Finally getting the courage, she opens the door taking in the shared space. The bay window in the center of the room casts a light sparkle over the room, providing plenty of light for the plants that consume the room. Pillows of many colors scatter calculatedly in front of the windows, and on the orange couches placed symmetrically. The place makes Eira warm inside, but she feels her heart race at the multitude of plants. Ice powers and plants do not mix.

Eira shuts the doors behind her. The smell of coffee grounds and florals assaulting her. Taking more steps into the suite, she glances over the room assignment sheet tucked next to the coffee maker. Another girl is listed beside her name to be her roommate, but Eira does not even notice her name. She is just hopeful that they'll become fast friends. That's how shows and movies portray it at least.

Eager to set her bags down, Eira hurries over to her assigned room and deposits her bags on the bed. Taking in the room, Eira isn't even bothered by the noise of a girl talking, and a girl blasting music down the hall that kills the silence. She is deep in thought at what this school year brings, and what her suitemates must be like.

However, Eira is pulled from her thoughts. "Who are you, and what are you doing in my room?"

The shrill voice startles Eira, leading her to turn to face the girl who broke her from her thoughts. Last she checked she shared this room with another girl who she can assume is the fuming blonde that stands a few feet away. The blonde's piercing blue eyes shoot daggers at the freshman, resting her hand sassily on her hip. Eira stares at her dumbfounded, unable to form sentences.

"Do you even speak English?" The blonde asks, rolling her eyes.

Finally getting her thoughts in order, Eira responds narrowing her eyes, "Pardon? I was assigned this room."

"There has to be some mistake. I would never room with a freshman who looks like she walked straight out of a homeless shelter."

Eira's face feels hot at the blonde's comment. Who did she think she was? A queen? The audacity. Feeling her hands start to become cold, Eira takes a step back from the girl and heads to the door. She needed to escape before she said something or did something that would make her year a living hell.
