《Chapter Twenty Two - Pursuers》

"RUN!" Emma shouted, with the others running away with her, away from the demon that was chasing them. 

"RAY WHAT IS THAT, THING?!" Gilda asked, running while still looking back at the demon. "IS THAT IN THE BOOK TOO?" She asked. "NO! THERE'S NOTHING! IT MUST BE A DEMON!" Ray guessed.

"A DEMON?!" Emma shouted in shock. "So that's a.." "Yes, I'm sure." Emma said to Don. "The hands, face, and skin, it all looks disturbingly similar to the ones we've faced." Luna pointed out. "But- the demons we've seen, back at home, they were all talking! They were also standing up like a human too!" Emma stated.

"That's right, the demons we've seen didn't have tails, and they always wore those hideous horned masks." Ray listed. "They even had clothes too!" Emma added.

"TALK ABOUT THEIR SANITY THOUGH! THIS ONE ISN'T AS SANE AND PROPER AS THE ONE'S WE'VE SEEN!" Luna pointed out, to which the demon was still screeching as it tried to eat them. 

"EMMA!" Ray shouted, pulling her away from the demon that almost grabbed her. "Thanks!" Emma said as he lets go of her. "Did the demon come from the farm? To catch us?" Mark asked. "NO! It's not from the farm! It wants to kill and eat us right here and right now!" Nat corrected.

"Exactly! The demons who came from the farms would treat us like special merchandise! They wouldn't just attack us like that!" Emma agreed, getting flashbacks from the demon they saw from the house.

"It doesn't seem to be tamed at all, it's a wild card!" Luna noticed as she kept running away from the demon.

"Everybody run! Don't look back, just run!" Emma instructed, with the others turning back in front of them as they all ran through the trees. "KEEP GOING THROUGH THE NARROW PATHS EVERYONE!" Emma shouted. 

"We'll make it eat dust!" Don said with a smirk on his face.

"Yeah! We've been training for this for almost 2 months!" Nat said. "Ray! Everyone's doing just fine! We should start dealing with the demon now!" Emma suggested. "What's your plan?" Ray asked.

"Well, I don't have one at the moment, but lets just think of one along the way!" Emma answered.

"THAT'S A SUICIDE MISSION, DUMB*SS! Sure, I wouldn't mind kicking someone's a** if they were a HUMAN, BUT FACING SOMETHING THAT'S MORE THAN TEN FEET TALL WITHOUT A PLAN IS STUPID!" Luna exclaimed. 

"As much as I'd like to agree with Luna here, Emma IS making the right call. The demon won't stop chasing after us, at this rate, we'd all be too tired to keep running." Ray reasoned. 

"Fine, I'll go along with whatever you two came up with." Luna said. 

"We need a plan!" Ray said, looking over to the demon behind them. 'The only way to get out of this situation is by finishing it right now.' Ray said to himself.

"Why not try getting it over to the killing tree?" Luna suggested. 

"You're right! If we can lure it over to the underground, we'll be able to escape!" Emma said enthusiastically.

"Alright then, let's all split up-" "No, I'm doing it alone." Ray interrupted Emma, with Emma and Luna looking back at Ray. "Ray! You can't still be thinking of,, NO! I WON'T LET YOU!" Emma refused as she thought of Ray trying to kill himself again.

"What the- No! It's not like that! I'm not trying to sacrifice myself! I'm only taking care of this because I'm confident that I can handle it." Ray explained. "Tell me, Emma, which one of us is more likely to win in a game of tag?" Ray asked.

"UHM, that would be me? Thank you?" Luna said, shoving Emma and Ray away from each other. 

"Let ME do this, I'm way more physically active and faster than you guys. I should be the one to handle this." Luna volunteered.
