The next morning business was slow. They only had a handful of people come in, and half were looking for the bathroom. Aidan aimlessly wandered down the corridors, looking for something to do. He walked into an elevator, hoping to find a break room of some sort, anything with some food. Reaching for the button, Aidan noticed a button he hadn't noticed before. It read 23, but the building only had 3 floors. Curious, Aidan pressed it, not knowing what to expect. Surprisingly the elevator started going down, shaking, and groaning in protest as if it hadn't been down here in a while. A ding rang out from the little speaker, as the elevator doors opened, revealing a concrete, dimly lit hallway. Aidan cautiously stepped out, looking around. It was a singular hallway, leading to a firmly locked door. A voice in the back of his head told him to turn around, go back, but he just had to see. He walked over to the door, hearing faint voices from behind it. Putting his ear up to the cold metal, quiet moans, and cries could be heard. Well now he had to see what was back there. Looking down to a small keypad, his fingers hovered over the small plastic keys. He thought for a second, trying to recall anything that might help him figure out the code. "What are you doing here?" a voice asked.
Aidan whirled around, to see his friend, Kat. "Kat? I-don't do that, you gave me a heart attack." Aidan breathed, relieved it wasn't his father.
"What are you doing here? Are we supposed to be here? Why is this place smell? Do you hear that?" she interrogated
. "Chill! I can't answer all those at once! I found this door, and I was trying to get in, but I don't know the code." Aidan replied, glaring at the lock, as if forcing it to open.
Kat pushed passed him she took out a roll of tape from her sweatshirt pocket. She carefully placed a piece of tape on the print scanner next to the keypad, and pressed on it with her finger. The scanner beeped in submission, as the door slid open with a metallic groan. "Well now I want tape." Aidan said, holding out his hand.
"Not a chance," Kat smirked, walking into the room.
Aidan followed, flicking on the light, revealing hundreds of large tubes. "What-Oh my god......" Kat whispered, bringing her hand up to her mouth. In each tube was a moaning, groaning, crying, human.
