So... maybe Jeongguk kind of regrets going to this party.
It's supposed to a stress-buster activity for Lalisa to get herself lost into, see, since his roommate has never shied away from rambunctious crowds and practically hoards an entire fruit punch bowl at every gathering they have, but he kinds of what to just leave her in Namjoon's apartment alone and go back to binge watching Minecraft videos.
Then again, he can't. It's not that he's been tasked to look over her wherever she goes, it's just that he can't leave her. His conscience won't let him, not after what that adult baby did to her in their dinner date--whatever that was.
That's why he's now clutching one of Lalisa's hand, trailing after her like a frightened puppy after being pushed into the wall by a couple who was making out wildly at the entrance of the house. First thing he can say about this party is that it's terrifying.
"Hey, Gguk," Lalisa says in front of him, snickering at his wide eyes, "why the fuck do you look so scared?"
The bass of a Chainsmoker song almost drowns her voice out. "It's hell in here."
She cackles, but pushes through another throng of people. Damn, he shouldn't have worn this black wool sweater. He thought it'd be fine, but sweat was already collecting in his armpits and he feels disgusting. "Isn't this your friend's party? We should find him."
"Tough luck, there's too many people in here," he screams over the music after scouring through the unfamiliar heads and faces. "Let's go to the kitchen."
Lalisa's face lights up despite the cheap disco lights. Jeongguk knows why, kitchen = booze, and she did mention wanting to get drunk until she isn't able to walk before coming here, so it's no surprise that she almost skips to the kitchen.
Jeongguk hasn't been here before, so the interior is strange to him. They arrive in the kitchen and he immediately starts to open the lower drawers in search of Taehyung's "reserved" drink that he saved especially for him, ignoring the cheers and whoops of those who were playing beer pong in the corner. He pulls open the last drawer and voila, a bottle of Smirnoff appears in his face.
"Well, I think we've got ourselves some vodka," he proudly proclaims when he pulls it out. Lalisa squeals in excitement. "Can you find some orange juice in the fridge?"
"On it, boss." She does a mock salute and marches off, and he simply rolls his eyes. She's been doing good these days, it seems like whatever happened between Jimin and her didn't occur at all. Jeongguk is glad for that, he doesn't like seeing his roommate act like a total sap.
"Hey." Someone taps his shoulder. He turns around to see a guy, taller than him by a few inches with a deep dimpled smile. "You're Jeongguk, I suppose? Tae's friend?"
"Oh?" He asks in surprise. "Yeah, I am. And you're... Namjoon?" A wild guess.
The guy nods and holds out a hand, in which he takes. "Yeah, Tae asked me to look for you."
"Where is he?"
Namjoon sighs, as if he's tired. "He's in the bedroom... with, uh--"
Jeongguk sees the tips of his ears going red. "Uh, yeah, I understand." Namjoon seems to let out a relieved breath. "I'll make sure to send him a text though, hopefully we'll be able to see each other before we leave."
"That's good." He smiles, dimples deepening. "I'm afraid I won't stay here for a while, though, I still have to go to the other guests. But thank you for coming, enjoy."
He gives Namjoon a grin as he leaves, and only then Lalisa returns with her orange juice.
"Oh my god, I'm so excited!" She jumps up and down as Jeongguk mixes the two drinks in a random pitcher that he found at the cupboard. He ignores her, pouring some ice into their drink. Then, he fills the cliché red cups and gives one to his roommate, who takes a drink instantly.
