I don't know what thing drives me to say this, but if I know one thing, it's that it is not jealousy. No sir.

It explodes from my mouth. I have no control over it. It just happens. And there is really no reason behind it but anger. He just gets on my every nerve, and this one nerve had no cork to bottle it all in. It, and I, ain't having none.

"Tell your Hickie whore I say hi."

His tense features drop their walls slightly. His harden structure fails him and softens slightly. A glow starts to come forth from the black of his eyes, the blues seeping out in hues of amusement and pure satisfaction. In just seconds his levies break, and a stream of emotions floods our atmosphere. A small smirk creeps onto his lips, seeming to grow bigger with each passing moment.

"What?" He asks in a more amused and bright tone. His smirk fighting for reign, the corners of his lips twitching as he tries his hardest not to let his aching chuckles escape.

Nice going, smart one.

I close my eyes, biting down hard on my lips. The empowerment and confidence I held before has fled. All that is left is this condescending feeling of embarrassment. And boy is embarrassment fun....NOT.

Dammit, Elizabeth. Why can't you ever let things be?

Oh, right, I always have to be the one to have the last word. Great, just great.

I straighten up as it hits me that right now is not the best time to be lost in my thoughts as per usual. I cross my arms in a defiant fashion, cocking my eyebrow with my lips pursed. Becoming the embodiment of sass, I let my "little miss priss" attitude shine through blindingly.

"You heard me." I say, putting up my front. I nonchalantly half-shoulder shrug with as much confidence as I can muster.

But what I thought would be another slimy and gritty comeback turns out to be a shimmering, hearty laugh that bounces off the walls and ricochets off the windows. And again, my head is full of song lyrics that ring with his laughter. It fills the room and my head, both combining and taking turns as the main thought in my head.

To the window....hahahahaha....to the wall....hahahahaha(to the wall)....to the sweat pouring down my...hahahahaha...

"What's so funny?" I question, still putting up my sassy sass front. I tip my head up and glance at him with my jaw locked.

His eyes swim over to me, and his mouth opens up into a big, toothy grin. His smile makes his blue eyes shine with hope and excitement, becoming a roadmap to Neverland. It's almost as if he's transformed into a whole new person.

But bad habits are hard to get rid of. In the blink of an eye, his giant, magical smile has broken down into a sly smirk. His eyes lose the wonder and Disney-nature of them, and we're right back down to square one.

"Like you don't know." He chuckles, nudging me with his elbow as if I am in on the joke.

I give him a look of incredulously and knit my eyebrows together for effect. My sass-o-meter starts to reach new levels, but I quickly weigh it down with a tight smile.

"I wouldn't be asking if I knew."

Colton studies me, that stupid smirk of his shifting to only half his smile. He gives me a look and shakes his head, his hands occupying space on his hips. He looks like a father trying to make a show of scolding his son for banging his (the son's) girlfriend, so his wife doesn't hit him over the head with a rolling pin, when really he is proud and is aching to fist bump his son for hitting a ten.
