IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER, SAT A GIRL BY HER BROTHER. Her thumb was running gentle circles over Naito's hand as he slept soundlessly beside her, needing every bit of rest his broken body could get. The silent sound of the IV seemed to sing in her ears. Her face was passive as she looked at him, they were the spitting images of each other. His eyes were hers, her nose was his. They had shared everything in life, and Midori would not see it end on this accord.
Although, she could not deny that it brought her some comfort that Naito may die before her.
A twisted and selfish thought.
