I opened my eyes slowly, and what I first see is Alice's face inches away from me. I gently pushed her off, and sat up.
I felt moist on my lips, don't tell me she did it again before I woke up.
"I thought I lost you, Marisa."
"What happened, Alice?"
"The bloodlust. You need to reduce the using of your Mini-Hakkero."
"What does that have to do with this?"
"This incident... This incident causes those who uses magic to succumb into bloodlust. All of the people you've encountered outside the dream have succumbed to them. As for the villagers that stayed sane, they went on a literal witch hunt."
I looked down at my Mini-Hakkero. Did she really mean it? I need to lessen the use of it, my signature weapon?
"I don't want to lose you, Marisa... Just like the previous Magus before you."
"There's someone here before me?"
"Yes, indeed. Behind me, is the tombstone where she now lied. You remind me of her, which is why I loved you."
"...Loved?"
"Creators love their creations. I am a doll based on a real person, and is made by people. Does it mean that people can love me as well?"
I hug her. She then wrapped her arms around me.
"I'm sorry, Alice. But I need to finish my task."
"As you wish. However, don't use magic excessively... Or then I'll lose you forever. Ah, and I wish to gift you this... It belongs to the previous Magus." Alice said, putting a black coat onto me.
She then kissed me, causing me to wake up in the waking world. I stood up in front of the altar, which turns out to be hiding a flight of stairs underneath.
I head down the flight of stairs, until the wooden steps end on stone grounds and walls. I continued to walk down the dark hallway lit by candles, until I passed by a torch, and took it.
I lit the torch with fire from one of the candles, and I continued to walk down. How large is this shrine, anyway?
The hallway then opens itself to an open clearing, which is dark considering it's underground. The ground beneath me began to feel muddy as well. It's cold indeed, but the coat that Alice gave me shielded me from most of the chills.
At the end of the large clearing is another passageway. I try to open the gate leading to it, but then I heard electricity surging. I turned around, torch in hand to see...
"Oh no, not again..."
I widened my eyes at the monstrosity in front of me, a skeletal being wearing a black hat adorned with a red ribbon, and a veil which covers it's lower body.
"You succumbed to it too, did you? How ironic, you once swim through clouds, now you're swimming through mud and stone."
She gave a demonic shriek, as I dashed towards her with the torch, igniting the veil she wore, making her jump around due to the heat, as I slash my broom-spear on her body a couple of times. However her bones are as hard as an oak, nearly breaking my spear as a result.
She growled again, and opened her mouth attempting to devour me. However I dodged, and I plunged my broom-spear into her eyehole, before kicking her huge face off to release my spear back.
A moment later she raised her head and roared, causing surges of electrical currents to flow across the muddy ground. I used my broom to float above and avoiding electrocution as a result.
I opened my magic storage, and pulled out a bottle of oil which I splashed onto the beast which was once Iku, the Oarfish Youkai in front of me.
Afterwards, I swing the torch once, and it hits her oil covered body, setting her ablaze.
I used the opportunity to strike her eye as she got down to shake off the flames. This time, the blade of my spear hits a fleshy object within her eyehole, which is presumably her brain, and I pulled out as she then dropped herself to the ground and exploding into a burst of white light.
Now with nobody else blocking my way to the next area, I opened the door to the new passageway, and I walked it down, with my torch lighting the way, deeper into the abyss. Who knows what else might I encounter next? I mean, this is the Moriya Shrine but underground.
