Tammy's POV

''thanks''

''for what?''

''for giving me a ride home again''

''oh, no problem''

She smiled at me, and I couldn't help but smile back. That was until i noticed the bruise on her lower arm.

''hey, what happened?'' I said as I looked at her arm.

''oh, i fell. I'm really clumsy'' She laughed awkwardly.

''Well, call me if you need anything''

''mm, bye''

She said as she drove away. I don't know why, but it felt like she didn't tell the truth. Well who am I to judge, we just got to know each other. I think. I have a feeling that we've met each other before. I think it's just me thinking too much, but she reminds me of that girl. That girl I helped a long time ago.

''You can't stay here, you need to run'' I yelled as I took her by the hand. She mumbled something that sounded like a name. We ran as we held each other's hands. We hid behind a big rock and stayed there for a while. Holding onto each other.

After an hour or so, we finally got out of there. But it was too late. ''no!'' I screamed as I saw my mom lying on the floor with my sister beside her. The blood puddle was too big.

I was only twelve, that was five years ago today. It still hurts. Instead of walking to my house like I usually do, I walk to the train station, watching as the trains pass by. I wonder if I'll ever be okay. Maybe, maybe not. I close my eyes and unconsciously think about her. Her long black hair, pretty fringe and cat like eyes. She really is pretty, but why do I think about her so much? I have no idea, maybe cuz she's familiar.

It's starting to get dark, and I see my mom and my sister in front of me. I can't stop thinking about them. I wish that never happened to them. But what can I do about it? Nothing. I look up at the stars.

''Mom..I'm so lonely here. It feels like dad doesn't care about me anymore. I try to talk to him, but he's never in the mood. I miss you and Mika. Mika, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you like a big sister should do. I'm really sorry''

My eyes fill with tears and I can't stop them from falling down.

Star's POV

I miss her, Ji-eun. I watched her die, and I didn't do anything about it. I guess I couldn't but still, I could at least have tried.

I wiped away my tears and stared at the ceiling.

''Star!''

I heard my dad yell from downstairs.

''Coming'' I yelled back.

As soon as I got down I fell to the ground. He'd hit me so hard that I couldn't even stand up.

''You don't yell at me! You understand??'' He yelled, hitting me again.

''I'm sorry dad'' I looked down.

''good girl, i wanted to tell you that you got an A+ on your last exam. That's really good''

''Thank you''

''But you still need to be number 1 in your class, so I expect you to be that that when this semester is over''

''Yes dad''

''Now go up to your room'' I nodded and stood up, caressing my cheek as I walked up the stairs.
