Chapter Seven

Later that night, Greg came over. He picked me up and took me to get some food at Shakey's Pizza. When I got in his car, he started with some small talk, asking me about (H/T) and what I thought about South Park. We got a table, and that was where the real conversation came into play.

"So, (Y/N), I need to be completely honest with you. There is no point in me not," he said after we ordered our drinks. "I am in love with Wendy."

"Oh?" I replied, very confused in what was going on. "Then-then why did you invite me out?"

"I need your help. Wendy doesn't like you, and I am not convinced that she likes Stan," he continued.

"So, what are you proposing?" I asked.

"I want you to fake date me," he confidently said.

"Fake- what?" I questioned.

"If you are my girlfriend, it'll make Wendy crazy jealous, and she'll see her true feelings," he explained.

I was ready to tell him no. I wasn't going to let him use me- but I stopped myself. Because if Wendy gets jealous and leaves Stan, then I could go for Stan-

"What if she doesn't leave Stan?" I questioned.

"She will, trust me," he let out a laugh.

"What do I get out of this, besides an enemy?" I asked him.

"She wouldn't even be an enemy...I am single, and you are the new girl. You have no reason to know of mine and Wendy's past. Trust me, she's more mature than you think. That's why this plan has to be so elaborate. There is no other way to make her see..." he rambled off like a psycho.

I couldn't help but stare at him in disbelief. I genuinely could not tell if he was being serious. I think he could tell that I was unsure, and he suddenly pulled out his wallet and took out a $100 bill.

"I know I sound insane, but I really do love her. It would just be a fake relationship, like playing pretend, say you're in?" he asked with a hopeful look.

Really what was the worst that could happen? It would literally be so easy, and if what he says is true, I could have an opportunity to get to know Stan. There was really no harm to me, plus, that's practically a free $100.

"Yeah...I'm in," I told him.
