7: Rise to the Max

Outside of Lobelia Academy, the Nature Club is having their field trip to the Soleil Vine Forest. There is a coach bus waiting for the club and before the group heads inside, the leader has to take attendance.

"Everyone is here, then let's get on the bus." The leader informed as she took attendance. The club including Mimino gets onto the bus, once when everyone is settled, the bus driver starts to drive ahead towards the forest.

"I cannot wait to see the forest!" Mimino cheered with a smile. "We are all excited for sure." One of the other club members replied back to Mimino.

While at the Holy Flower Garden, Seraph Lotus Flattersky was waiting for a particular someone. Waiting patiently, a man wearing a red, white, and black walks towards the Seraph.

"You called, miss seraph?" He called out as Lotus turned to him. "Yes, I did. Have you seen Rose in the recent battle on Earth?" Lotus asked.

"She fought well, as far from what I saw." The man replied, his name is Kaito Touma, known as Ultraman Max. "Good thing to hear. I called you here to discuss the next steps. Next, you have to meet Rose in person and tell her that you are her teacher." Lotus explained.

"Where is she at the moment. I will be on my way to see Rose." Kaito asked. With a twirl of Lotus' staff, its magic forms a cloud showing what Mimino is up to.

"She is with the Nature Club heading to the Soleil Vine Forest for a field trip. I will create a doorway to that location." Lotus said as she uses the cloud that was previously used to form a doorway.

"Good luck, Ultraman Max." Lotus added on as Kaito nodded and he walked through the doorway towards the forest.

Deep in the Soleil Vine Forest, the club was split in groups of 3. Mimino Kurumi was with Mika Chiyo and Katomi Iriza, two other members of the Lobelia Academy nature club, as one group.

The leaders of the club decided to let the groups explore around the forest and reunite by the visitor center that is close to the mountain.

"So far, we've seen pretty plants and trees on the way. Also took pictures and notes of what we saw." Mika said as she was processing what the three had done. "I can surely agree. These pictures are totally going to be put in my scrapbook after the trip." Katomi replied.

"What about you, Mimino? Any thoughts in mind?" Katomi asked her. "Um, so far we basically did everything we wanted to do." Mimino replied back.

As the three girls laughed, Kaito Touma walked towards them. "Pardon me ladies, I am looking for Mimino Kurumi." Kaito interrupted as the three girls looked at him.

Mika and Katomi then look at Mimino, they both point at her. "That would be me." Minino said as she does not know what is going on.

"Come with me for a quick moment, it will be a little conversation. Afterwards, I will bring you back to whatever you are doing." Kaito explained as Mimino follows him somewhere far away in order to have a private conversation between the two.

When the two were far enough in the forest, they stopped looking at each other. "First thing, who are you and what do you want from me?" Mimino asked Kaito. "Glad you asked. My name is Kaito Touma, former DASH member and known as Ultraman Max." Kaito introduced himself.

"An Ultraman!? Um, my name is Mimino Kurumi." Mimino introduced herself with a shocked tone.

"The seraph at the Holy Flower Garden told me many things about you. I wanted to tell you that I will be your mentor." Kaito explained. "Eh!? You're my mentor!? No wonder why Seraph Lotus did not tell me who my mentor was in the first place." Mimino exclaimed in shock.

While Mimino and Kaito were talking, the ground started to shake as when an ant-like monster came out from the ground, its name was Antlar.

When Antlar roared, Mimino and Kaito looked at Antlar's appearance. "I thought I defeated him long ago. How did Antlar come back." Kaito suddenly felt concerned. Mimino stepped back a bit as she took out her Rose Palette and bud stylus.

She opens the palette and presses the three big buttons with the stylus. BLOOM, POWER OF THE ROSE!  "I ask for the power to protect, magical rose translate!" She shouted to activate the transformation. After the rise, Rose goes to her fighting stance while Kaito sees Mimino transform.

"She is the hero of this town, I knew it. My student, fight well." Kaito observed the scene. Then, the battle begins.

Meanwhile in the battle, Rose was having trouble as Antlar uses its horns to grab her tight. The tightness from the horns made Rose stumble back, falling on the ground after when Antlar let go of her.

Rose tries to get back up, but the pain from the tightness started to get visible. "Mimino! Hold on, I am coming to save you!" Kaito shouted as his Max Spark, raising it in the air to activate and insert it on his wrist. Kaito rises transforming to Ultraman Max.

"Its- Max!" Rose exclaimed. "You ok, Rose?" Max asked her as he turned, lending a hand. Rose accepts as she holds Max's hand, standing up slowly.

"I am alright, almost had that bug." Rose replied as her color timer suddenly changed color beeping.

"We need to finish Antlar quickly with our strong attacks before time runs out for you." Max suggested. "You go and I will follow, sensei." Rose replied.

"Rose Tourbillon Ray!" Rose shouted as she summoned her finisher. "Maximum Cannon!" Max shouted as he summoned his finisher, then the two beams soared together hitting Antlar in the center and it exploded in defeat.

With a victory in hand, Mimino and Kaito detransforms back to normal size. Mimino was holding the spot where the pain came from with her hands as Kaito looked at it carefully.

"Here, let me help you." Kaito said softly as he lifts Mimino's uniform top, taking out some bandages, and wraps the bandage around the wound.

"Thanks, sensei. I would be in trouble if you weren't there to help." Mimino thanked as she tucks down the shirt and bowed. "That is what I will do, whenever I am here or not, I will be there for you as your teacher." Kaito replied, patting Mimino's shoulder.

Also, Kaito takes a stylus-like object from his pocket. Its color was silver with a white flower embroidered on it. "Here, you may need this, the power of the Metallic Petal. The seraph told me that this change form is one of the strongest." Kaito said as he hands the stylus to Mimino and she takes it. "Um, how did you know that I may need it?" Mimino asked.

"I will tell you everything while we walk back. Your friends may need you." Kaito explained as Mimino and Kaito walked back towards where the other two girls were waiting for Mimino.

A moment between mentor and student starts to grow fond as a veteran Ultra meets a rookie Ultra.
