Valentine
It's already been two days since the last time I saw Dominic, and I'm beginning to get itchy. It's not that I wanted to see him so bad, but it's because I'm getting psyched up. After that calculated surprise, I did not expect that he'd ask me out and perhaps that's certainly how I secured Dominic. My already growing confidence just went through the roof, and it's even reaching the fever of certainty. It's pretty much a guarantee that I'm going to snowball towards snatching my own revenge.
A small part of me wants to spend my day off with Dominic, but I still chose to keep my distance for a while. I know I'm doing a great job and as much as I wanted to finish this plot, I'm still trying to be careful. I must admit that I'm starting to get the feeling of warmth with Dominic. His natural charms and the small feelings that I have left seemed to be working against my favor, and I don't want that to destroy me.
"So, how was your date with Dominic?" Ivana asked, beginning to open the floor of conversation as we both walked towards my office. We were about to have our lunch, and we just came from the kitchen with plates of food in our hands.
"Yeah, it was okay. It's still a date" I replied, acting like nothing extra-ordinary happened.
"Vaaaal," Ivana gave me a piercing look. That look meant she's trying to force me to say something about our date. Although the date went great, a part of me wanted to keep the details for myself. When we were skinny dipping in the darkness of the beach, I saw how genuinely happy Dominic was. I've never seen him resonate such radiant emotion. It felt like it's the happiest moment of his life, and even his laugh was ringing pure innocence.
"Well, it was memorable." I spat, almost hesitant.
"Oh, that's very interesting. I think I would like to hear the juicy details." Ivana trailed as we both settled down at the extra table.
"Nah, I'm not going to tell you anything."
"Ah! Did you two have sex?" Ivana gasped, pointing her finger at me. "Tell me, you did not have sex with Dominic."
"We didn't. Yes, we kissed and cuddled but nothing past that happened." I replied in a flash, quickly reassuring her that nothing happened.
"Hmmm," Ivana sounded as if she didn't believe me and stared at me for a moment before eventually giving up. "Okay, I'll believe you."
"I'm telling the truth."
"And I said I believed you,"
"This salmon looks good," I said in my attempts to redirect the conversation to a different topic.
"I don't really like eating raw food but this is immaculate," Ivana admitted as she took a slice of the raw salmon and put it in her mouth.
"Oh, it's melting inside my mouth." I trailed after eating a slice.
"So what happened then?" Ivana suddenly asked again. She's really trying her best to outwit me with this, but I know her, she'll be stubborn with it. I thought I've swayed her to talk about something else.
"Okay, fine! I'm going to tell you." I decided just to tell her. I just knew she'd be persistent and I don't want her to spend her break bothering me with the same questions for the next twenty minutes. And I'm not down to redirecting her attention to some other things in the next twenty minutes as well. "We went to a drive-in cinema,"
"Wow, a drive-in cinema? That's romantic!" She squealed. "I wish someone would take me to a drive-in cinema,"
"Well, then you might have to start fishing. There's plenty of fish in the water."
