Skylar
Three days after the dare, and I can't forget about the kiss, which was making working with Gally and the builders a whole lot harder. Why think about a shuckface like Gally when there are much more pleasant things to think about?
Gally seems to enjoy yelling at everybody, especially me. Is it cause I'm a girl, or does he just hate me? Could be both.
"GREENIE!" Gally yelled at me.
"What now, klunkhead?" I yelled back.
"Oh don't call me that, call me Captain Gally." He said, very sarcastically.
"Okay, Captain Gally it is." I said, and gave a sarcastic salute.
He turned red in anger, and for the rest of the morning, he was breathing down my neck, instantly alerting me when I made a mistake.
At lunch break, I was walking over to Newts table, when he walked in front of me.
"You do know how horrible you are at this, right? At living in the Glade. The Creators should never have sent you. You are a waste of time and energy, Greenie."
Well, that was the last straw. I punched him in the face, kneed him in the balls, and spun away quickly, before he could hit back. He swung, and I ducked. I swept out my leg and tripped him. He fell on his back, hitting the back of his head, hard. I had a knee on his ribs and a arm under his chin, preventing him from fleeing, or hitting back.
"My name" I hissed, "is Skylar."
I stalked away, refusing to talk to anyone but Newt. By the end of lunch break, I was in a much better mood. Newt, I noticed, did that to me. He always seemed to put me in a better mood.
It suddenly began to rain. Hard. I laughed as Newt and I ran to find shelter. Twenty minutes later, I spun around to face Newt.
"Let's dance." I told him.
"But there's no music." He said.
"Who cares?" I laughed. "I can sing if you really need music."
And so we spun into the rain, dancing, laughing.

They were one and the same, somehow knowing each other perfectly, each move timed well, their bodies fitting together, like they had danced together many times before. Her eyes shined as she sung the tune he had sung the night before, giving it words, life.
"You remember the tune?" I say.
"Of course! It was only two days ago!" She says. And she keeps on singing a new song.
"I think the universe is on my side. Heaven and Earth have finally aligned. Days are good, and that's the way it should be..."
I lose myself in her voice, forgetting about the boys around me, forgetting about everything. We go on, uninterrupted, until a Runner named Ben runs into the Glade, screaming and gasping for breath.
"I-it's George a-and Stephen! They're injured!"
I look at Nick.
"How long till the bloody Doors close?" I ask him.
"About four hours." He responds.
"That's enough time. Minho, Ben, we're going to bring them back." I say.
They both nod. Skylar looks at me worriedly. Frypan brings us water and we head towards the Doors.
Before I leave, Skylar pulls me aside, and kisses me.
"Please come back to me." She whispers.
I kiss her forehead.
"I will, love, I will." I say, and run into the Maze.
