Scarlett has her head propped in her left hand while her eyes wander over her current book when Farkle comes running into the classroom, slamming the book she gave him down on the desk.

"I loved it! I need more!"

Scarlett looks up at him, noticing how tired he is. "Farkle, you look exhausted. Did you stay up all night reading that?"

"Yes," he nods fervently. "Please tell me there's more. I need to know what happened to Charlie's father."

She nods, staring worriedly at him. "There's seven more. Farkle, are you okay?"

He waves her off. "I'm fine. I must read them all. Do you have them?"

"Um, sure..."

"I'll be at your place today!"

"...okay."

Sighing in happiness, Farkle takes the seat beside her. Instantly he slumps in his chair before his head falls forward and he is asleep.

How cute, she giggles before covering her mouth.

She glances over to the side to see if her brother noticed, she didn't need his overprotectiveness right now, when she notices a girl in all pink, Missy, leaning over him.

Lucas, on the other hand, looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Poor big bro, her eyes widen. Riley's not gonna like this.

Unfortunately, Scarlett was right. When Riley entered the class, then she slumps in her seat, misery emitting from her body.

"Sneak attack. December 7th, 1941," Mr.Matthews starts.

"A date which will live in infamy," Farkle pipes up, his head lifting from the table.

Riley looks around, spooked. "A date? They're going on a date? In Italy."

"No, Riley," Maya tells her. "You're in history."

To Scarlett, Riley looks like she didn't even know where she was.

"I'm history," Riley looks offended.

Scarlett leans forward to whisper to Maya. "I think it would be best if she leaves."

Maya nods. "Okay, put your hands up," when Riley doesn't, Maya does it for her.

"Yes, Riley? You have a pertinent observation on the subject of the sneak attack?" Mr.Matthew asks.

"May I be excused," Maya directs Riley.

"My eyes see my shoes," Riley says.

Catching Mr. Matthews's eyes, Scarlett directs his attention to Missy and Lucas.

Mr.Matthews nods in understanding. "Yes, Riley, you may be excused."

"Forever?"

The hope in Riley's voice makes her heartache.

"No," Mr.Matthew shakes his head. "You have to come back to class at some point, honey. You just have to."

Slowly Riley drags herself out of the room.

"It was another sunny day in paradise, before the sneak attack that changed everything," Mr.Matthews counties.

By chance, Scarlett glances to her right only to see Riley pressed against the window. What is she doing?

"Do you like the movies? Dark at the movies," Scarlet heard Missy ask her brother.

"Depends on the movie. Depends who I'm going with," Lucas replies.
