Author's Note - Hey guys! Sorry, sometimes when I get excited about a story and I want to write about it - I have continuous bits of updates over and over again. Anyhow, Keisuke and Shaw (previously XxShadowxX) have been confronted by an Orc. Keisuke has only entered the game though and Shaw is relatively new and fearful of the creature. How're they going to get out of this alive?

Chapter Two - A Gamer's Resolve

The Orc continued to approach, its massive shadow engulfing Keisuke and Shaw in its wake. Shaw trembled behind Keisuke gripping onto the fabric of his tunic. Keisuke couldn't admit that he wasn't even fearful himself. The Orc had two tusks sticking out from under its mouth, its breath was deep and ragged, blood shot eyes and a massive build. Carrying a club in one hand that was covered in spikes and its lips drew upwards into a grueling grin.

"Hu...man..."

Shaw shrieked and took a step back and Keisuke's hand shot back to grab him before he could flee. His eyes stayed trained on the enemy at hand. How could a level twenty monster be in a place where new players originated. This wasn't apart of the game's design was it? Every area had its own range of monsters with levels to ensure a clear experience. And it was even intensified by the fact that he didn't know of his own class and capabilities from that odd experience in the character creation process.

"...Character Information."

A rather large window opened up showing a 3D representation of Keisuke's body. He looked normal save for the cream colored tunic and khaki trousers along with the brown leather boots that adorned his feet. He hadn't even noticed the sword holster that sat on his waist, it seemed worn and used but still durable. Reaching to touch it, he wrapped his hand around it and unsheathed it from its holster.

[Alabaster Sword] has been equipped.

"Alabaster Sword.."

He wasn't entirely sure if the character creation process went correctly. He couldn't see his class or his stats very well, to be honest, they seemed rather jumbled but that wasn't the point. Closing the window down, he took a few steps back holding onto Shaw the entire time. The young cleric was practically trembling in his shoes, taking little gulps at a time and chanting a phrase to himself again and again.

"Its only a game, if we die then we'll just respawn. Dying shouldn't be too bad. It'll be okay, it'll all be okay."

Keisuke frowned a tad before looking towards the Orc. It stood there as if waiting to see what the two would do. If they ran, it would chase them and if they stayed - it would take it as a challenge and fight. Neither most likely knew about the nearest town, and it would be dangerous to stay still and check their inventory for a manual or any sign of help.

"...Shaw. I need you to do me a favor. All of the fear and anguish in your heart, erase it. It may be hard to do, no, it'll be probably be the most scariest thing I could ask of you."

He rubbed the back of his neck. Being at the mercy of an Orc, especially one as fearsome as this one couldn't have been easy. Especially for a new player. The feelings and reality of a VMMORPG were often far too baffling for someone to get a feel of after the first experience. It was even harder to decipher reality from the dream. But if those two things could be aligned.

"KEISUKE!"

"H-"

A sharp pain cracked through his reverie and he could feel his body being impaled by something sharp. The twinge of pain, the amount of irritation, it was digging into him and he was pushed harshly to the side slamming into a tree with the amount of force and momentum. Sucking in a deep breath, trying to get his mind to catch up to his body. The amount of pain digging through him couldn't have been real but it hurt. Grabbing at his side, he could feel the area throb and winced at the touch. Narrowing his eyes, he glanced upwards able to see the health bar radiating over his head. A significant amount of the green had disappitated and it was nearing the yellowish-orange.
