While both of the brothers are excellent warriors, Vilkas is the brains to Farkas' brawn. They are both members of the Circle, being gifted the power of the beasts' blood.
They both had asked the Dragonborn to help cure them of their lycanthropy, wanting to go to Sovngard when they died.
Aela often jokes that they are the Dragonborns bodyguards, seeing as how they tower over everyone else and stand on either side of the Dovahkiin, glaring and snarling at anyone who dares raise a brow at their Harbinger.
