Chapter 18

A/N: Sorry if it took so long before this update. Dwindling readers is not what's causing me to lag behind updates and stuff. I have been trying to keep myself busy and from stressing out about real life. Things have taken a bit of a rough turn since the start of the year (FINANCIALLY). Work has been rough, and though I have tons and tons of free time, I would try and escape reality through games and other stuff. On the positive side, Alpha Prime, my ongoing fantasy novel, has already been published on another site, and it is under contract (non-exclusive), so I can basically still post here, but to avoid any legal notifs, I hold most updates of the said story here so if you are one of the readers of ALPHA PRIME check out my Facebook page as I do post updates about the chapter there and about the progress of the story. Her voice felt like a buzzing sound that won't stop, and it keeps on repeating in my ear.

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

"Oh, hey! you're back!"

I wanted to disappear at that moment. Beads of sweat started to form on my forehead. 'GULP' I am lost of words, and I can feel Kelly's eyes looking at me. Without any second thought, I rushed outside. I can't bear the feeling of embarrassment, especially when that stare is coming from Kelly.

'Oh... why did he run outside?'

"You came back!" The woman on the counter said to me. That caught me off guard; I did not expect her to remember me.

"Ah... Yeah, it's nice to be back... Is... I mean, can I have..." I was about to order the tart when I heard his voice.

"Kelly???" His angelic voice feels so warm, and I want to give him the tightest hug. I miss him so much. I know it has only been a week, but I don't want to miss a single minute away from him. I looked in the direction and saw him a bit stunned to see me here.

"Hi!" I smiled at him and waved, trying to act normal.

"What are you doing... I mean, are you sure it's ok for you to travel all the way here?" He asked while still peaking from inside the kitchen or something.

"Yeah, it's all ok... thanks to you..." and I winked at him. God, I'm such a doofus. Doing all sorts of stuff just to impress him.

I could not take my eyes off him, and honestly, I don't want to until the lady from the counter interrupted us.

"Ehem... YuKi pan wa?" She said without even looking at him. I have no idea what that means, but judging by her tone, it seems like she will also be between us and will do everything to keep us apart.

"So... what was it that you want again?" She smiled again at me like nothing happened a few seconds ago. Her smile is leaving a sour aftertaste in every gulp that I made. She looks so sweet, but wow! I can feel her overwhelming authority.

"Ah... well, I'd have this..." I randomly pointed at one of the items on display.

"Are you be paying cash or credit?" She asked again while still maintaining her devilish grin. I can't look at her now; it sends shivers down my spine.
