CHAPTER 1He pulls her closer, her hands tangled in his once perfectly styled hair. His hands wander the curves of her body while she sits on top of him. She ripped off his shirt the moment they got home, it's only fair that he returns the favor now. His hands gently slide her grey sweater off, holding her by the face he opens her sensitive neck for him. He roughly bites her as she throws her head back in pleasure, gasping and pressing up against him. "God," he pants, "you're so sexy Christina.". Christina's nails dig into his gently defined abs as he makes his way down to her collarbone, "Only for you Shayne," she responds shakily. She pushes him back into the wall behind him and looks him in the eyes with uncertainty. "You know, my parents aren't home tonight, I thought we could maybe," he cocks an eyebrow up playfully, "Maybe what?" he responds in a husky tone and a smirk creeping in the corner of his mouth. Chris pushes him back again, "I'm not going to spell it out like some desperate little slut Shay", she giggles. "So you won't be my little slut then huh?" he forcefully pulls her against him, breathing slowly against her chest while looking up at her. A soft whimper escapes her mouth, but Shayne pulls her into a pure embrace and exhales sharply.
"Chris as much as I want to and believe me I want to more than anything, I just want to wait for graduation. I know you told me about the pact you made last year, let me be that person, the guy on graduation.". She sighs and kisses him on his cheek before she sat upright again. "I get it and Uhm... thank you, Shayne.", "Anything for you". He got up and put his shirt back on before he kissed me goodnight and went home. I was still sitting in my bed waiting for his 'legendary' exit as he so called it, basically when he passes my bedroom window he slows down and revs his car into oblivion. The neighbours hate it, but it was uniquely him and I waited for it every time.
Wow haha, look at you getting an insight into my sex life before you even know my full name. I'm Christina Lane, your absolute average high school student, no literally, I barely attend anything after school except my tutoring lessons for some extra cash. I just started my senior year two or three months ago, so nothing exciting except I'm finally ditching this place. The extremely hot guy I was just with, that's my boyfriend, Shayne Dillion. I wouldn't say it was your typical best friend to lovers struggle, but we've been best friends since freshmen year and one day we both just told each other, "hey you absolute idiot I have feelings for you". We've been together for about a year and a half now, wow it's been that long huh? Sorry time truly flies when you're with the right people, even my worst days were still heavenly because of him.
I'm just going to skip my entire school day because it's the same thing over and over, wake up, shower, get coffee, greet my already tipsy mom and my amazing dad. Shayne comes to pick me up and we just endure the day. I stay a little late after school to tutor someone and then walk out to see the man of my dreams across the parking lot. In all his high school boy elegance, leaning against his Porshe Boxter. Back to you cutscene.
Christina walks out of the school in her jeans and light blue hoodie, it brings out her blue eyes and light brown hair or that's just people trying to be nice and not tell her she dresses like she's homeless. Shayne's leaning against his sports car in a brown leather jacket almost too big for him, tight white shirt underneath, and ripped skinny jeans, all paired perfectly with checkered vans. Neatly styled blonde hair and piercing green eyes complimented with a goofy smile plastered on his face. Christina always wondered if he looks at her the way she does him, but when he picks her up and kisses her with so much strength she knows. He would die for her and so would she for him.
Shayne puts her down gently and kisses her forehead before opening the door for her. The parking lot was nowhere near empty nor absent of those snarky comments spat out onto the concrete. It's nothing new she has to deal with, other students have always called her a gold digger or something in that category because (extreme shocker) Shayne is well off. Take the car, for example, it's the 3rd car he's had throughout high school. That would have made sense if it was a little beat-down bugger, but every car has always been top-of-the-range, newest editions PLUS he modifies it and builds up the engine to be almost illegal.
They drove off not paying attention to the idiotic comments. They made their usual stop to get some milkshakes and then drove out to the cliffside, it's become a ritual. Jamming to their favorite rap songs and maybe some rock is thrown in there too. Laughter was constantly heard when they were together, either Shayne exaggerating his hand gestures and fake crying, or Christina singing off-key on purpose and screwing up air-instrument solos. They reached their destination already free of the stress the day caused. Milkshakes half absorbed, they sat on the hood of his car overlooking their tiny town. She gently put her head on his shoulder, the curve of his neck felt like it was made for her. He takes her hand and holds it against his chest as they sit and watch the sunset in silence.
This was their special moment every day, no matter what happened they would come here and just sit, no strung out conversation because they were tired. Just relaxing and soaking up the golden sun as it retreats behind the far mountains circling the city.
The cool breeze was starting to settle and it was their sign to get going. "Alright love we should head home," Shayne said as he jumped down from the hood, opening her door for her. On their way home he held her thigh, squeezing it every now and then, smiling from ear to ear. 'God he looks so sexy driving with one hand' she thought. "Earth to Christina!", she was pulled out of her daydream laughing, "caught me staring huh?", she laughed. A terrible attempt at a British accent he said "How improper of you milady, gawking at the King's heir to the throne", he playfully gasped. Confused but still laughing Chris responded, "Wait wha-hat, who might this king be?", Shayne's mood slightly shifted, like he didn't realize what he had said until now, "Ha, i..it's just a joke Chris, don't read into it,". "Well, how could I not, if this prince is so good looking I must wonder about his origin". Shayne gripped the steering wheel a little tighter, "Seriously it's just a joke Christina, it doesn't matter.". Only now he wasn't joking anymore, he was slightly irritated. "Sorry, I was just joking around," she apologized, he squeezed her thigh again and forced a smile, "Me too babe, just kidding you know?"
They pulled into her driveway and he kissed her goodnight, Chris left in an awkward hurry and locked her front door before quickly waving to him, no rev this time, she felt stupid for pushing the joke, she had a feeling it was connected to his father, someone they never talk about. Shayne told her that he abandoned him to his aunt when he was a little boy but that's about it. She walked into the living room only to find her mom passed out on the couch but her dad sitting at the dinner table calling her over.
Dinner isn't anything fancy, steamed peas, mashed potatoes, and grilled chicken breast. Her dad always made sure she eats relatively healthy. She sat down and picked at her peas while devouring the rest, she was pretty full but didn't want her dad to be worried about how little she eats. She looked up at her dad staring into the void of the dark oak table, drinking from his glass of water almost in a trance, like he was trying to figure out what the lottery numbers are.
Just as Christina was about to get up and leave her dad looked up, in an almost desperate tone "Sweetie please do everything you can for that NYU scholarship, with your mom.." he trailed off looking at her on the couch, "..my point is she isn't working and with my job's pay I-", Christina interrupted him, "I know dad, I'm grateful for everything, I couldn't expect you to pay for college too." His brown hair was hanging messily over his eyebrows as he looked at her through his glasses.
He just smiled with his eyes closed and nodded his head before he continued his dinner.
