The Village

Chapter 13

  So far in the halls they had only encountered a few zombies, at the moment the two S.R.T members  were in the back protecting the rear as Scarlett and Leon led. Three zombies came at the pair and Leon killed one while Scarlett threw her knife killing the one that was going for him and kicking the other making its head cave in. 

  "She has some good moves." Scarlett heard the male S.R.T member say as she got her knife back and they continued moving. They got to a wider hallway leading out to the lobby and found themselves surrounded by zombies. Scarlett and Leon took care of the ones in front and yelled for everyone to run, at the sound of someone crying out Scarlett turned back to see Greg, the male S.R.T member, helping Ron Davis, the senator, up and turning to shoot the zombies getting to close from the back. 

  "Ah hell." Scarlett said before she used her speed to get around the others and help as the man in a suit took Davis from Greg . She appeared before Greg's eyes making him jump in surprise but he was quickly distracted as he watched her kill several zombies in a short span of time with her knife and head kicks. He wondered how she was killing them with a single kick to the head, human skull's were strong but she was caving them in with each hit of her foot. It must have caused pain to her feet since she was in just regular shoes but she didn't seem to feel it as she kept going.  He also didn't understand how she had gotten so fast in such a short amount of time, she was a blur to his eyes and he could barely believe a person could move so fast. Scarlett on the other hand knew it was dangerous for her to be using her abilities but she saw no other option as there were so many infected and she had to protect the people around her from that fate. 

  "Ahhh!" Scarlett turned to see Greg had backed up into a pillar as he was shooting and was now being bitten on the arm by and infected man, she went to him as he pulled his side arm and shot the man in the head. She tried to get him to move as Angela, the female S.R.T member, yelled out his name. 

  "Shit, Stay back!" Greg yelled as he pushed Scarlett toward Angela who had went to rush toward him. Scarlett turned to look back at him with a sorrowful look as Leon stepped forward to grab Angela. 

  "Go on without me." Greg said as he turned to face the shambling corpses nearing him. Angela said his name again but Leon asked the man if he could handle it and Greg waved them on. Scarlett grabbed a hold of Angela and helped Leon drag her away as she screamed the mans name and tried to go back for him. 

 They could hear him shooting as they continued and Scarlett helped Claire and Ronnie up onto the wing of the crashed plane so they could all see the pull area of the lobby. She went to Angela and placed a gentle hand on the woman's shoulder and felt her shaking a bit from the loss of her partner. Scarlett heard Davis yell at Claire before he walked to the edge of the wing and saw the crowd of zombies scattered throughout the area below. 

  "Are we going to make it out of here?" He asked hopelessly as he stumbled back from the shock of seeing so many infected as they took notice of the group on the wing of the plane and began moving closer slowly. 

  "We have a clear view and a straight path to the exit." Leon said as he and Scarlett walked toward the edge of the wing and Davis turned to them. 

  "We take out as many as we can." Leon said raising his gun and began shooting zombies to clear a path big enough for them to get through. 

  "And run like hell." Scarlett finished for Leon as she stood beside him, he yelled for Angela and had the woman come and help him shoot more zombies. 

 "Can't you get rid of them any faster?" Davis complained as he sat and watched the pair work while Scarlett went to Claire and Ronnie, she didn't have a gun so she couldn't help them clear the way.
