Technology has reduced the workload of mankind to a great extent. People are getting more and more engaged with online activities. That's what hackers take advantage of....They can track all your activities and may temper with the pictures or videos posted by you to blackmail/threaten you. They can have access to your bank accounts by stealing your passwords and may leave you bankrupt.

Changing your passwords frequently might also help.
