Lucy p.v.o

I fell back asleep, I think. Man, that means I missed breakfast. I'll go to the kitchen then. Maybe Uncle thatch made some cake.  As I am walking through the hallway, I hear yelled all the way from the deck. WE ARE UNDER ATTACK. 

I gasp as I hear the fighting startup on the deck. I need to get to my room and hide. As I turn around and run, I hear heavy boots clinking behind me. I start running, but it is too late. I feel a hand grab me in a painful grip. I got yanked around and came face to face with a giant man. He was wearing red captions coat and had brown pants on no shirt. He smelled awful and had yellow teeth. 

"Look what we have here. You'll do just fine."  He laughed.  He then grabbed me by the neck and started dragging me on deck. I screamed and clawed at his hand, but it was no use. I tried to breathe, but it was so hard. I felt him talking, but all I could hear was the blood pounding in my ears. There was black in my sight, and I realized I was going to die.

 I WAS GOING TO DIE. I don't want to die. I don't want to be a weakness. NO, No, no. Yes, I realized I was going to die without sailing the sea. I was going to die without experiencing true freedom. 

Then as my vision was fading, and my lungs feeling like they were going to explode. Laying limp like a rag doll. Used against my own family. My family. I am sorry, so sorry, pops, mama as I took what I thought would be my last breath. His grip suddenly slacks. Blood and brains cover my face. He falls on top of me. 

I didn't realize how much time has passed. I was suddenly in mama's arms. He was whispering to me. At that moment, I realized I never want to scare him again. I never want to be in that position again.  As I fall into a shallow sleep, I make another vow. One that will shake the world as a whole. 

I vow on my life to never let my family get hurt because of me again.

What she did not know was with this vow, she unlocked something deep inside her.
