"seriously, I'm so tired of always being the one fixing things," you said. your sudden outburst startling your boyfriend.

"i...y/n, what are you talking about?" jaehyun asked, confused and surprised pausing the game he was currently engrossed in and placing his joystick on the table.

"i just-i think i just have to get this out of my chest."

"okay, baby. you can tell me all about it once we sit down." he answered, approaching you and guiding you to the couch he was just on.

"how do i even start?" you began. your voice crack worrying him. "it's okay love. take your time." aftering hearing those you exhaled slowly moving away from his protective hold.

this proving to be a concerning action to him.

"jae...there's something i need to tell you..."

"yeah, what is it?"

"i-oh god...how do i put this... i uhm...so, i really don't want to hurt your feelings...but I just can't keep it in anymore."

"o-kay...baby you're making me nervous. just spit it, okay? it's okay."he said grabbing your hand and intertwining your fingers together.

" jae..i can't go on like this. i-i'm ending things."

after hearing those words he was momentarily struck with genuine confusion, shock and heart-ache all at the same time. not quite understand where all this was coming from suddenly. "...y/n. i don't... what do you mean end things?"

"i just came to the realization that you and i- we just don't click together like we used to, jae. and think its maybe for the best if i just end things." he couldn't believe that this was actually happening to him right now. you two were always content with eachother.even embracing eachother's differences rather well.

you two went out on a coffee date yesterday! he didn't know what in the flying fuck you were even talking about. "you-are you-you aren't toying with me right now, right?" he hesitated asking. now holding your hand in both his hands. seeing his face so broken almost had you blurting out how this was all a prank.

but you wanted to drag this out a little more.

"sorry." you sighed and attempted to stand up and walk out of the room to make your whole stunt seem even more believable but you were pulled back and urgently engulfed into a tight hug.

"wait! y-you can't do that. you can't leave me without even giving me a proper explanation. let's talk it out. please. i'm sorry." he said in a desperate tone, his voice strained and choked out.

you immediately felt regret wash all over you for making him feel like this. you had to explain it to him right away. you turned in his embrace holding his face. "hey don't apologize. i was joking. it's a prank. i wanted to see how you'd react. i'm sorry. i didn't think it through." you apologized giving him a gentle peck on the lips as you let it slowly dawn on him.

"a...joke?" he mumbled confusingly.

you nodded. "yeah. a stupid one. don't get mad." you explained afraid that he'd throw you off his lap with the way he was glaring at you.

"you realize that now? i almost cried."

"but you didn't." you smiled awkwardly, "sorry?"

He audibly sighed slumping in his seat and pulling your head to his chest. "you're lucky I like you so much." he mumbled kissing your forehead.

"just like?"

"you're not getting anything more from me than that right now. i can't believe you'd test our relationship like that. just for a dumb reaction. don't ever pull a prank like that, okay?...okay y/n??"

"okay."you grumbled.

"I mean it, y/n."

"yes. never ever."
