Back to Tessa's POV:

After eating lunch we headed back to the house.

I see my dad sitting in his office.

"hey dad" I say

"hey Tess did you get your dress" he asks

"yeah I did. You have to wait until tonight to see it though"

"okay can't wait" I smile and run upstairs

The ball starts In 2 hours so I start getting ready.

Nina will be here soon.

I get into my dressing gown so when I have my hair and makeup done I don't have to take anything off over my head

"Tessa, Nina is here" Winnie shouts from downstairs

"okay coming", I say

I open the front door to Nina.

"hey girl" , she says

"hey" I reply

We hug.

We go up to my room and she start my makeup.

"how was your date with Cole" I ask

"it was good, he wants to take me out again next week.", she adds

"that's great, do you like him?"I ask

"yeah I actually really do." She replies

"that's good"

Jordan walks in "what time are you-"

He notices that Nina is here "sorry I didn't know you had company"

"no it's fine come in. Jordan this is Nina, Nina this is Jordan." I say

"hey" Nina says

Jordan nods "I just came here to say that we have to leave by 7"

"yeah I know I've been told hundreds of times" I reply

"alright, we'll see you when you're done" , he says

"yep okay" , I reply and Jordan leaves the room

"who was that?" Nina asks

"before i tell you, nobody knows that you know about the Mafia stuff okay?" I say

"yeah I know" she replies

"he's a bodyguard my dad hired for me", I say

"really? And your okay with it"

"well I wasn't at first, I actually despised the idea. He can be really controlling sometimes." I say

"yeah but that's his job Tessa" she says

"I know" I sigh

"he so likes you" she says

"What, shut up. We don't even like each other on a friend basis." I reply

"okay sure. So is he like going as your date to the ball tonight?" She asks

"no he's going to be my bodyguard"

"oh okay. What's going to happen when we go back to school. Is he going to like be there in each class"

"No, he's not. I'm making sure of that as well"

"okay" Nina has finished getting me ready

For makeup she went for a glam but soft look and for my hair she did waves.

"okay ready to put on your dress?" She asks me

"yes" I put on the dress and my heels and walk towards the stairs.

Nina calls out to everyone "okay she's ready"

My dad , Winnie , Eli and Jordan are all standing at the bottom waiting for me.

My dress:

I walk down the stairs

Winnie gasps

My dads eyes widen

Eli smiles

And Jordan just stares at me

Just before I reach the bottom steps Jordan puts his hand out to help me down. I look at him then at his hand and take it.

I step down the last too steps.

I see that Jordan is wearing a suit with a red tie

"we match" I say pointing to his tie

"you look amazing Tessa" Winnie says

"Thank you Winnie"

"woah Tessa that dress is fire" Eli says in his french accent

"Tess, my little girl. You've grown up so fast. Your mom would of loved to see you like this." My dad says and I smile at him "right let's go"

Before we leave I look at Nina "thank you so much"

"no problem" She says and We hug

"well I better go, have fun" she says

"I'm going in the first car, and Tessa and Jordan are going in the second one" my dad explains

I didn't even like these balls but I go because my dad wants me to, and my mom used to always go. So I'm filling in for her.

Once we get into the car and drive off Jordan turns to me "you look really pretty Tessa" That's the nicest thing he's ever said to me

"Thank you, you look really good too" He smiles and looks away

"that's the first time I've seen you smile", I say

"I guess it is" he says
