YouTube is a website that has extensive amounts of videos. From gaming to commentary, beauty, music. You can even buy movies. However YouTube has a dark secret that not even the people behind it know about as it constantly makes it under the radar no matter how many views the videos get. Tom had stumbled across one of these videos on accident, and it was going to change his life.

It started on a Monday.

Tom was lounging about as, thanks to the current world situation, he didnt have any work. It had been like this for weeks. His brothers entertained themselves and hanging out with your older brother is a bit weird, their words not Tom's. So Tom was left bored a lot of the time.

He was scrolling through youtube on his phone, his feet on the coffee table as he slumped back against the couch. He wasnt even paying attention to what he was doing really. He opened a video, then another, followed by another, and it kept going and going till Tom noticed he had come across a channel he had never heard of.

It was in a font that his phone didnt recognise making it super hard to read but it intrigued him. He clicked on the video and full screened it. It was a black screen for a few seconds before a person in a mask appeared on the screen. It was just a commentary video and Tom went to stop watching but once the person started talking Tom couldnt stop listening.

Their voice and the subject was just so interesting, he sat there watching and listening to his phone for interest and once the video was over and the person said, "please watch more of my content and subscribe." Tom found himself doing just that.

The persons content was always on something new but it always had content of how to behave well and show yourself off, and Tom loved every second of it. He watched the videos for hours and hours, commenting on some videos like the person asked to, liking others, watching some over and over again stuck in a perpetual loop till he passed out on the couch.

Teusday through to thursday Tom did the exact same thing. Get up, shower, shave, eat a healthy balanced breakfast, workout for an hour, read a few chapters of a book, go for a walk, workout once more and then watch the masked persons videos till he passed out in bed.

Friday morning however was different. Tom groaned as he opened his eyes and looked around, he frowned once he realised where he was. In the backseat of a car that he didnt recognise.

"Where...am I?" Tom asked as he sat up, looking down at his hands to find that they were handcuffed and he felt panic rise in his stomach, "Hey what's going on!? Where are you taking me!?" But he calmed down once he looked to his side and saw the person in the videos sat beside him.

They were earily silent but they were well built and was in a nice navy suit that weirdly complimented the mask. They turned to look at Tom and for the first time Tom noticed the eyes were almost kaleidoscopic, no matter how he looked at them they shined in a different way.

"Dont you remember?" Their voice was calm and steady, like it was in the videos. "You won a competition to meet me. The handcuffs are just...a safety measure. I do not like being touched." Tom looked back down at the handcuffs and noticed that they were chained to the floor of the car so he could barely move his hands up or to the side.

"Oh right." Tom nod, finally remembering. He had submitted an entry to the competition on Wednesday and got the winning email thursday evening. It must've slipped his mind. "Sorry I guess I forgot."

The person behind the mask laughed and crossed their arms. "How could you forget me? You said i was your favourite youtuber ever, that even though you've only been watching my videos for a few days you feel like it has been years. I'm a little hurt Tom."
