Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. There are inconsistencies and things that wouldn't make sense in the real world. It's a good thing this work of fiction is not real world. I don't own any characters but I do own this little made up story and all my mistakes.

=======================

After talking with his mother, Serkan was finally able to take a breath. He was feeling a little overwhelmed. His mother was right. He'd been through a lot. He needed time to get his head straight. Try to remember more.

He was feeling guilty about what he did to Eda as well. That broken expression on her face as he yelled at her, accusing her of stealing the holding would not leave him alone. The way she didn't say a word back to him, the disbelief on everyone's faces and Eda simply taking her bag leaving didn't feel right to him but he was too worked up and he had no idea what Eda had come to mean to him at the time.

Not that it was an excuse. He remembered the "i love you"s and her proposal but he knew there was a lot he didn't remember. He went up to his place to find it exactly the way he remembered, clean and organized. Engin had told him that he moved out and he wanted to see his new place but maybe being in a familiar place was what he needed right now.

He walked around, trying to reacquaint himself with his old life, maybe jog a memory or two. He found himself in front of the bookcase and pulled out a book, Madonna in a Fur Coat. A polaroid slipped out of its pages and fell to the floor. A photo of them at their fake engagement party. It wasn't a new memory but he was seeing it differently now. They looked good together. It felt natural. Right.

He turned to his telescope. Something was drawing him towards it. He raised his hand to touch it and an image appeared in his head. Eda.

("Which star are we looking at tonight?" "Good question. Because I have a little surprise for you." "What is that? Another contract?" "No. This is a little present for you." "What? You bought me a star?" "Yes. Now, there is a star called Eda Yıldız in the sky. "I think you've forgotten how spoiled I can get." "Is such a thing possible?" " Where is it? Which one? Show me, please. Which one?" "Come on." "Look through here. You see Sirius? "Yeah." "That big light. Next to that is a star." "That's the one?" "That's Eda Yıldız." "Are you serious? Yaa. Thank you.")

He froze. That, he didn't remember that. That was a memory, wasn't it? He really wanted to call Eda right now. To ask her if it was real or not but he knew it was and that he couldn't call her. So he called for Seyfi and asked him if there were any other pictures of him and Eda. He brought a box full of them. All polaroids. They had a thing for them obviously, but he liked it. He started going through them.

One thing all the pictures had in common was that they looked happy. Really happy. The smiles on their faces were real. He never thought he could smile like that. Be... content the way he appeared to be in the pictures. And they fit. The pictures looked natural, even when they were posing for them. There were a lot of pictures where they weren't looking at the camera lense. He wondered who took them. Engin? One of her friends? He desperately wished he remembered. He had to remember. He was starting to get a headache. He had a very long and very eventful day. He needed to get some rest. He could figure this all out tomorrow.

When he woke up the next morning, he felt rested. A good night's sleep had done him some good. His head was still foggy but he was feeling a little better.

He didn't have the heart to say no when his mother called him over for breakfast. He knew how bad she was when his brother died and she had gone through the same thing all over again. Except this time, she didn't even have a body to bury. He couldn't even begin to imagine what she must have felt. He really should have found a way to at least call her to let her know he was alive. Why and how in the world had he let Selin convince him it was better to not tell anyone? Another thing he had to make up for. It looked like he was going to have to do a lot of apologising. His employees at ArtLife, his mother, Eda... The thought shook him. Since when was he apologising? And was apparently fine with it? It was probably another development he had forgotten about. He wasn't sure how he felt about that.
