At the end of Chapter 14:  As soon as Mihriban said "Yes" to Aziz, the room exploded with cheers, hooray's, and bravo's. Aziz brought her close and embraced her with all of the feelings he had yearned for since she first had left his life. Now she was not only back in his life, she was there to stay and would be by his side from now on as his wife. His wife! The sound of that in his head made his heart swoon. Then Can shouted to Aziz, "No guts, no glory"! Everyone around them knew what that meant but Aziz most of all. After all of the wishes and expressions of happiness galore, Aziz uttered the words he had wanted to say since the day he had met his beloved Mihriban. "We have a wedding to plan... and not a moment too soon!"

**********

Standing in front of the mirror, Can adjusted his crisp, tailored white shirt. He smoothed his perfectly groomed and gently highlighted hair then secured it into a bun. He contemplated whether or not to put on a black vest. After giving it some thought, he chose to leave the vest hanging in the closet. He looked into the eyes of the man staring back at him in the mirror. Narrowing his eyes, he carefully scrutinized his appearance to make sure he looked the part of the groom's son. He wondered and hoped he looked good enough for his father, Aziz. On this very special day, Aziz would surrender his heart completely to his true love, Mihriban.

Little did Can know that for the last few minutes, he had not been alone in the room. In the doorway of their bedroom, Sanem stood watching her husband with nothing but pure love shining in her eyes. The moment Can noticed her, he straightened up and complained that he was not made for formal wear. He wasn't made for dress shirts and dress slacks. And if Sanem thought he would choose to wear a tie, he would seriously consider changing his pants for jeans in an act of rebellion. Sanem just smiled at Can and told him she had something better for him to wear for the occasion. Something that held a great deal of love and meant a lot to both of them. Seeing that Can had not yet selected a pendant to complete his totally masculine, unique and iconic Can Divit style, Sanem brought him one she hoped he would want to wear. She opened her hand to show him. In it lay a heavy silver chain, and the pendant hanging from it was her moonstone engagement ring.

Can was stunned. To say he was also surprised would be an understatement. He looked down at the palm of her hand with the pendant and the moonstone ring laying in it. In the bright sunlight coming into their bedroom, the moonstone reflected a crystal- clear light. He looked into Sanem's eyes and asked what had caused her to take the ring out of their treasure box. After all, they had agreed to keep it safe inside the box. She just smiled, came closer to Can and placed the necklace and pendant into his hand. She told him that days like this day were meant for the celebration of love. The moonstone ring was a true symbol and testament of their love. Of the strength and meaning of their love. Of the power of their love to conquer even the darkest of days.

Something in the way Sanem uttered those last few words gripped Can's heart. He took the pendant from her hand, put it around his neck, and carefully placed it next to the necklace with two albatrosses hanging from it. Thanks to Sanem's surprise gift, he did not need to look in the mirror to know that his look was now perfect and complete. He brought Sanem close and gently cupped her face in his hands. He kissed her dearly and tenderly. Then resting his forehead on hers, he whispered his favorite words of love to her. "Ahh, Sanem, ahh." There wasn't a woman in the universe that knew how to touch his heart in a gentler and kinder way than his beloved Sanem. But Can knew if she wanted to make this day even more special and filled with even more love on display, one more thing was needed. The pendant could not be taken out of the treasure chest they brought back from Galapagos and just be on its own. It needed to be paired with its favorite companion. The infamous bandana that had survived so much.
