Three Days Since the Last Chapter
Today's your first day at work. You work for a movie company that makes movies, you get dressed, and as you leave, you see Tom in the hall.
Tom: Morning.
Y/N: Morning.
Tom: Today's your first day at work.
Y/N: yeah, I'm pretty nervous, but I been practicing for the job.
Tom: well, you're going to wing it.
Y/N: well, see you later.
You walked to the elevator and pressed the button. You checked your phone while you waited out on your headphones listen to [insert favorite song here but ill put one of my favorites up top]
The elevator finally arrived, and you stepped, and you noticed Tom was still there. You wave to him, and he waves back and heads back into his apartment.
Y/N: I hope he's okay.
You exit your building walk to the bus stop, and it didn't take much time for it to arrive. You get on, and it empty you sit in the back the bus starts but then stops; someone else gets on it's Lee.
Y/N: Lee?
You take your headphones out.
Lee: hey, y/n must be your first day of work.
He sits next to you with a massive grin on his face.
Y/N: you remembered too.
Lee: huh?
Y/N: Tom remembered as well.
Lee: oh, he texted you?
Y/N: no, he lives across from me saw him this morning.
Lee: oh, it's kind of like destiny, huh? Two ex-lovers are living in the same building.
Y/N: maybe I thought I spend my whole life with him, but it still hurts that it's over.
Lee: so you still love him, huh?
Y/N: yeah.
Lee: Well, you need to tell him how you feel.
Y/N: Nah, he has a girlfriend anyway.
Lee: Well, I wanted to ask you-
Then the bus finally reaches your stop, and you rush to the doors.
Y/N: see you, Lee. Have fun at University.
You get off the bus and walked about six blocks to the studio you entered. The building is piled with people you bumped into a few of them until you find your boss.
Mrs. Ridley: you must be our new hair and makeup person.
Y/N: yes, ma'am.
Mrs. Ridley: well, our main actors aren't here yet, so let me show you around.
She shows you around the place. It's Cozy, not too flashy like how the movies make you think you reach the final stop.
Mrs. Ridley: This is where you work; our main actor should be here in a few minutes.
She leaves, and you check out the room. It's a few chairs and mirrors. You sit in one of the chairs and check your phone, slowly falling asleep about 15 minutes go by, you feel someone touch your face you open your eyes.
Tom: Hey.
You quickly stood up and turned to him.
Y/N: What are you doing here.
Tom: I work here.
Y/N: Your the actor Ridley was talking about.
Tom: yup, been working here about three years.
Y/N: well, come and sit down and let's get started.
He sits down and looks at you with a massive grin on his cute face.
Y/N: don't look at me like that.
Tom: like what? This is my regular face.
You walked towards him and started working on his face. You could feel your heart pacing like the first time to meet him. Your hand began to tremble, so you stopped.
Tom: y/n are you okay?
Y/N: yeah, I just need some air.
You turn to walk away, but Tom grabs your hand.
Tom: I know we haven't seen each other in a while, but I know that face what's troubling you y/n?
That look, his soft dark brown eyes were staring at you, making you feel weak while he held your hand.
Y/N: Tom I-.
Beth: Hey!
Beth walks in and waves to you and hugs tom.
Y/N: Hey Beth.
Beth: Was I interrupting something I could go?
At the same time, you and Tom said.
Y/N: No.
Tom: Yes.
You both look at each other, and Beth looks at both of you.
Beth: Okay, what's going on here? You have both been so weird.
Y/N & Tom: it's nothing.
And look back at each other.
Beth: Okay, both of you talk to each other you have something to say.
Y/N: Tom and I used to date.
Beth: Really?
Tom: yeah, we ended up off about two years ago.
Beth: I'm sorry to hear that.
Y/N: but it's okay, umm, let me do my job here. Take a seat.
You do Tom's hair and makeup, and after you finish, you started to do Beth's makeup.
Tom: I'm going to practice my lines.
Beth: Okay, see you out there.
Tom leaves the room, but he didn't go. He was just sneakily listening in.
Beth: Y/N, could I ask you something.
Y/N: sure.
Beth: do you still like Tom?
You sigh, knowing she was going to ask a question like that.
Y/N: Yes, but I wouldn't do anything to ruin your relationship.
Beth: of course, I was just asking.
Y/N: so how did you two meet?
Beth: we met about five months ago here when I was just starting to work here. The other co-workers thought we might hit it off, so they secretly set us up on a date about two months ago, and here we are now dating.
Y/N: Sounds like an adventure.
Beth: oh, it was, but I wish he were more open with me lately. He's been unfocused lately.
The loudspeaker goes off, calling all the actors to come to set.
Y/N: Just in time too.
Beth: Wow, your good at this walk to set with me.
Y/N: sure.
You both walk out into the hall and see Tom there.
Beth: you scared me.
Tom: Sorry, I just got here.
You all walked to set it's a living room set beth walk to the director.
Y/N: So, what's the show about?
Tom: I play a character named Steve, dating a girl named Abby, but he starts to realize that he secretly like his best friend, Jane, who Beth plays.
Y/N: sounds complicated.
You both giggle, and he looks at you.
Tom: you got something on your face.
He tries to point it out to you, but you missed it each time.
Tom: here I'll get it.
He takes his thumb and wipes the smudge off.
Tom: there we go, all clean.
He continued to rub his thumb on your face, starring into your eyes. Beth starts to walk back over, and you quickly move his hand.
Beth: wish us luck, y/n.
Y/N: good luck, you two.
They go onto set they're doing pretty well together, the emotions flowing with each word they said to each other, the passion with their movements brings tears to your eyes, joyful tears Tom notices, and he stumbles at you.
Director: cut okay, everyone thirty-minute break.
The director walks up to Tom, and Beth walks to you.
Beth: Are you okay?
Y/N: sorry I they're happy tears. I promise the way you two acted was unbelievable.
Beth: Yeah, but I wonder why Tom stopped. He never did that before.
Y/N: Not sure we should grab lunch.
Beth: Sure, there's a perfect food truck around here.
Tom walked over and hugged you.
Tom: are you okay?
Y/N: I'm fine.
He lets go and stares at you with a smile.
Tom: Let's get lunch.
Beth: I and y/n were just talking about that.
Tom: we should go to Felix's like old times.
Y/N: I haven't been there since I came here. Is he still there?
Tom: Yeah, he has grown since you left.
Y/N: yeah, let's go.
You walk out to the bus station—you and Tom race there, but it's a tie.
Tom: I won.
Y/N: Bullshit, I won beth who won?
Beth was still trying to catch up when she reached you two she was out of breath.
Beth: I won.
You all laughed and waited for the bus. It's arrived, and you all got on.
Y/N: Lee!
Lee: Twice in one day.
Beth: Hey, Lee.
Lee: Hey, you two.
Tom: Hey, Lee.
You sit next to Lee. Beth and Tom sit behind you.
Y/N: you should come to eat with us.
Tom: I'm sure Lee's Busy with school work.
They both stare at each other with a glare that could kill a person.
Lee: Sure, I'll come along.
After a while, the bus arrives at your stop, and you all get off and start walking. Lee walked next to you on the way; Tom and beth were behind you, talking about their show with tom keeping his eye on you two watching you two closely.
Lee: so, where exactly are we going?
Y/N: to my best friend Felix's Café it's about three blocks from here excellent food it's been a while since I been there.
Tom rushes in between the both of you.
Tom: I'll race you.
He starts running, getting a headstart.
Y/N: cheater!
You run after him just a little behind him l.
Tom: come on, slowpoke.
You reach the café.
Y/N: you cheated. I would have beat you.
Tom: Nah, man, you just too slow.
You softly punch his arm, and he softly hits you back, and you both head inside. You see Felix at the counter. He's looking down at his cash register.
Y/N: the usual, please.
He looks up and at you in shock.
Felix: Y/N, your back in town!
Y/N: about three days ago, sorry I didn't stop by sooner.
Felix: Well, you're here now with Tommy, surprisingly.
Tom: We reconnected like old times.
Lee and Beth finally get into the store, giggling.
Beth: you both left us in the dust.
Lee: Yeah, I never seen two people run so fast.
Tom: sorry, I'll pay for everyone's food then.
Y/N: we can split it.
Tom: you sure.
Y/N: yeah, because I want to order a lot.
You all sit at a booth; a waiter comes around and takes your order; after you all order, you get a phone notification.
[Tommy: Hello]
You look at him, and he looks at you back.
[Y/N: hi :)]
[Tommy: I saw you cry at work, and it made me stumble.]
[Y/N: I'm so sorry, Tom. I didn't mean to]
[Tom: no, it's okay. I was just wondering if you were okay?]
Your food arrives, you put your phone away, and tom solely kicks you from across the table. He sends you another notification you nod your head no.
Beth: you okay, y/n?
Y/N: yeah.
You eat some of your food.
Y/N: I missed this taste.
Lee: can I have a taste.
Y/N: sure.
You take a spoonful and feed it to him.
Lee: it is good.
Tom: Can I have some too y/n?
You take another spoonful and feed it to Tom.
Tom: Delicious.
Y/N: you want some Beth?
Beth: Sure.
You take another spoonful and fees it to her.
Beth: I'll have to order this next.
An hour later
Y/N: well, what are we doing now since we got the rest of the day off work early.
Beth: I'm ready to head home.
Lee: Same I have to finish a project.
Tom: Home then?
Y/N: sure.
You paid, and everyone headed out, but you.
Y/N: I'll see you tomorrow Felix.
Felix: y/n before you live here, it's a cake it's on the house.
Y/N: thanks, Felix.
You take the small cake and leave.
Skipping the Bus Ride
You all return to the studio for Tom's Car.
Lee: thanks for the ride.
Tom: Yeah, whatever.
He walks to you.
Y/N: What up?
Tom: nothing, you haven't answered my messages yet.
Y/N: I'll do it when I get home.
You all get in the car. Tom Drops off Lee. First, you walk him to his door.
Lee: y/n, do you want to hang out next week at the Winter Carnival?
Y/N: sure.
You both hug, and Tom Beeps the horn.
Beth: Tom!
Tom: my hand slipped.
You walk back into the car, and Tom Drops off Beth. He cheek kiss her; she looks disappointed you wave but to her, and tom gets back in the car.
And he drives you both back to your department building.
