Your name is Tenko Chabashira, and you've fallen for an incredibly cute magician.

"OKAY, TENKO! Today is the day! No useless men around to bother you, no other plans that'll get in the way! Nothing at all!"

Tenko said, trying to hype herself up. She was anxious, as would anyone be if they were her. Today was the day she'd ask her close friend and crush out on a date. She made a cute little love letter and everything. She wanted this to go perfectly.

'Okay.. i'll just.. go up to her! yeah! with confidence!.. um.. then i'll tell her how much I love her and i'll sweep her off her feet!! Like she's the princess and i'm her knight!'

She fixed her posture and walked on over to where Himiko should be by now.

Looking around, Tenko found out pretty quickly that Himiko wasn't here. "Oh no.." was all she could muster. Her mind instantly thought of worst case scenarios, her mind boggled and she grew anxious..
Sighing, she clutched the letter in her hand and then-

"Taaa-daaa.." That voice, it was.. "HIMIKO!! ohh, I thought you wouldn't come! I was so worried!" Tenko lunged into the smaller girl's arms, hugging her tight.

"Sorry.. I got lazy and decided to come here later, maybe I shouldn't have done that.." The magician told the taller girl.

"It's completely okay, you cutie!" Tenko reassured her 'cute little mage'.

"Actually, I was expecting you to just be late, but I was still worried y'know! ooh! and, and uhm- I can't believe you just popped out of no where! How'd you learn that trick? and-"

"What was it you wanted to tell me?"

Himiko cut Tenko off. The taller girl gulped, she knew she was rambling on about nothing, but that was because she was nervous and was basically stalling.

Even after all that hyping up, after all of that time giving herself pet-talks, she was still worried.

"Well.. Uhm.." Sucking in a breath, Tenko gave Himiko the love letter she made. Closing her eyes, she confessed.

"Himiko.. I'm so utterly in love with you. Everything about you I love, your adorable little mannerisms, your incredible cute voice, your amazing talent, everything! So I wanna ask if you'd like to go out on a date sometime?"

Tenko felt anxious but giddy, she was sure Himiko would love her back, she couldn't wait to take her out and finally get to be with the love of her life, forever.

Stunned, Himiko opened her mouth. "I'm sorry.."

The taller girl's eyes shot open. Her and the magician stood there for what felt like hours.

"I-..I really am sorry, Tenko. I should've told you earlier but.." there was a pause.

"i'm aromantic." The shorter girl told her.

The aikido master felt guilty, she didn't know.

A sharp ringing pierced through her ears.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

Himiko's "i'm sorry" rang through her ears.

She thought this would work out well, she thought she would be Himiko's lover and protecter until the day they died. But that's all she did.

Thought.

Tenko snapped out of her daze, looking down, she noticed the shorter magician hugging her, and saw that her love letter was on the ground, but that was the least of her worries.

"Tenko.. Tenko, I promise I still love you, i'll keep being your friend, i'll even force myself to get up and do more of my magic, just for you! But I can't force myself to love you in a.. lovey dovey romantic way, y'know?"

Tenko hugged her back, the sharp pain in her chest grew stronger, but she held back. She wanted to cry so badly but she didn't want to upset Himiko more than she already has..

Putting all that pressure on poor Himiko, she wished she could apologize for simply loving the girl but she just couldn't.

Tenko focused on her breathing to keep even just a single tear from escaping, her glossy eyes made it clear she wanted to cry but she still didn't allow herself to cry.

"I.. It's okay, Himiko. It's not your fault."

The girls broke the hug, and stood there for a bit.

"Well.. i'm going to my dorm, have a good day, Tenko." Himiko smiled, Tenko smiled back but it was obvious she wasn't happy.
