The wedding went off without a hitch nearly two years ago. Now I was married to bryan and our son was nearly two. LeLand had such an interesting personality. He loved to draw and get into stuff. especially chasing the chickens while his daddy tried to collect eggs.I sat on the floor and rubbed my belly. Baby number two was on the way. This time a little girl. Bryan walked in with a little LeLand following close behind and I smiled. It was hard not to love both of my boys.
"How are my lovely girls doing?" Bryan asked as he came up and kissed my forehead and helped me to my feet. 3 months to go before our daughter made her grand entrance.
"We're good. She's awake and kicking like usual. I swear, she doesn't sleep unless your hand is on my belly or you're talking to her." I said and leaned into Bryan's chest.
"She loves her daddy that's why." He said and rubbed my belly.
"I love daddy." LeLand said and pat Bryan's leg. "And momma. But not her. She can stay in there."
I couldn't help but laugh at this. LeLand was so amusing. He didn't want a little sister, but it can't be helped. Bryan wanted a child that had his blood. Though legally LeLand is his son and no one is around anymore to tell him otherwise.
"What so funny momma? I don't want a sister." He said and crossed his little arms across his chest.
"Nothing sweetie, but momma can't keep her in much longer. In three months she will be here and she needs a big brother to protect her. She's going to be very scared." I said and tried to kneel down to his eye level.
"But can't we sell her?" He asked, quite serious.
Bryan had to walk away because he started laughing so hard. It was really hard not to laugh.
"We can't just sell her, honey. She has to stay with us." I said and ruffled his hair. "If you wanna be a big strong man like daddy, you have to start by helping out with your baby sister."
He sighed. "Fine. I'll try."
I smiled. My boys were wonderful. And soon there would be a little girl for them to protect also. Soon I wouldn't be outnumbered.
3 months later
After 10 hours of labor, we introduced Maggie Mae into this world. She was a tender little girl with blonde hair and blue eyes. She cried and cried and her little face turned red, but as soo as bryan brought LeLand into the room and put him on the bed, she stared at him and quieted down.
"She's cute." LeLand said and touched her hair. "Why is she so small?"
"Because she's just a baby." I said and smiled at him.
"Okay. We can keep her. For now." He said seriously and smiled.
I smiled at bryan and mouthed the words I love you. He did the same. I was a lucky woman. With two beautiful children and a loving husband. I couldn't ask for anything more.
