I spent most of my days planning our wedding. We had settled on a blue camo theme, on our own property, since we had so much of it. Since it snowed here a lot, we could have the snowy wedding that I dreamed of.Bryan had found a job in town, doing construction, roofing and just general repairs but he had dropped me off in town with LeLand so that I could do some shopping for items I would need to cook or bake and create all kinds of things for the wedding.
"Camile!" Erin yelled as she ran up to me. Her nostrils flared and if looks could kill I would be six feet under.
"Hello to you too." I said and tucked LeLand further with his blanket in he stroller.
"What the fuck are you thinking? Rob told me everything. That is his son. And now I saw some new guy drop you off and I know he's living with you. Are you a fucking whore?" She yelled and looked at me. My eyes scanned the crowd.
"It's none of your business Erin. And this so called new guy you saw is my fiancée. Bryan. He's not dead. If you bothered to be a good friend and check on me, or even call me, maybe you would know that. Rob made his decision to walk away, so don't put this shit on me. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things to do." I said and walked off away from her, leaving her standing in the middle of the sidewalk.
My heart was in my throat and I just wanted to cry. I sent a quick text to bryan.
Camile: bry, come get me? Erin cornered me.
Bryan: on my way. We can go to another town to shop.
Camile: sounds good to me.
I put my phone back in my pocket and was about to continue my walk when a tall man stepped in front of me.
"Camile." Rob said and placed his hands on the stroller.
"Go away, Rob." I said and looked up at him.
"This is my son. And I demand to see him." Rob said through gritted teeth. "And I don't appreciate the way you spoke to my sister just now."
"I don't appreciate her talking shit to me in the middle of town and accusing me of shit she doesn't even know." I said and then felt a hard slap against my face as a truck skidded to a stop next to us and my army fiancée jumped out.
"Who the fuck are you?" Bryan said and grabbed me and LeLand, hiding us behind him. "Don't ever lay your hands on another mans fiancée. Especially with his child there."
"You're child? Buddy I got a paternity test when that boy was born. He's mine. And I will do whatever I want to to the mother of my child. Who the fuck are you?" Rob demanded and got in Bryan's face. Bad idea.
"I'm Bryan. Army. Camiles fiancée." Bryan said and Rob looked at me.
"You said he was dead." Rob said.
"I thought he was." I said as I held a hand to my stinging cheek.
"Get in the truck, Camile. We're leaving." Bryan said.
I pulled out LeLands car seat off the stroller and hooked him up in the backseat of Bryan's truck then climbed up and put the stroller in the bed of the truck before climbing up into the passenger seat. Bryan got in and left Rob standing in the sidewalk before we left town.
"You don't have to explain yourself." Bryan said, breaking the silence. "Leland is my son, regardless of blood. We can have another baby. Mine this time. Mistakes happen and I'm guessing you paid for this one. But you are going to be my wife and LeLand is legally my son. No judge will change that. Rob has nothing on me."
I breathed a sigh of relief. He took it so much better than any other man would.
"Now, are we going to do some shopping for the wedding or what?" He asked with a chuckle and placed his hand on my thigh.
"Of course we are." I said and placed my hand on his.
Our relationship was as strong as ever.
