It was Christmas morning and the whole town was covered with snow like a cold blanket.

Jade had a cup of coffee in her hand as she watched her oldest son open his Christmas presents excitedly. She smiled at how happy the four-year-old was when he opened a fire truck. She heard beck call their son into the other room but was quickly distracted by her one-year-old son crying for her.

——
"Okay, buddy so you know what to do?" Beck asked his son once again to make sure that nothing went wrong. They had already practiced for a week.

"Yes," He said simply smiling at his father. He smiled back before placing the item into his small hand.

Jade placed her youngest son into a high chair in the kitchen so she could prepare dinner before she felt a small presence behind her.

"Mommy?" She turned towards the young boy and looked at him confused.

"Yes?"

She saw her son get down on one knee and pull out a small ring.

"Will you marry my daddy?" He asked sweetly as he looked at his mother.

Jade tried her best to not cry, not wanting to alarm her son. She knelt down and picked the ring up.

"Of course," She hugged her son before she glanced up to see her now fiancée standing across the room with mistletoe hanging over his head.

She placed the ring over her finger and ran over to Beck.

"Merry Christmas babe," he said before she grabbed his face and kissed him. They heard a small 'eww' come from across the room rebut they ignored. Every time they kissed it seemed as if everything else seemed to disappear. But soon they were drawn back to reality as they heard crying coming from the kitchen.

They pulled away from each other and they went to get their children breakfast and get them dressed before they visited family like always. But no matter what they were doing Beck could always see Jade staring at her ring and smiling.

I know it's past Christmas but I do what I want.
