Ren POV

We now stood in front of the Hokage, some chunnins, and the Jonin sensei. Every candidate line up in rows. Not too far behind us stood the redhead from The Hidden Sand. I still can't get the encounter out of my head, not only is his chakra strange but he carries this violent, malicious aura. Why does his chakra react to Airin?

After they got into the tower (chapter 16)

"Looks like we are the first to arrive," Minoko said looking around. Suddenly I sensed a strong chakra coming from behind us. We whipped our heads to look at the door and in came in the sand shinobi. A red-headed boy with black circles around his eyes, a Sandy-blonde with four spiked buns and green eyes, then a boy who wore a cat-like jumper and purple markings on his face.

"Seems like we came in second." The purple-faced boy said with a scowl. 'I don't think we should associate with these ninjas. The red gives me a bad feeling...' I activated my Byakugan and look at him but I tensed at the sight of the raging chakra I see.
'...I don't like it.'

I was about to tell Airin that we had to leave immediately but of course she steps forward with a cocky smirk on her tanned face. 'Dammit, she's gonna get killed before we have the chance to finish these exams!' I looked at Minoko but she just looked Airin, her brows narrowed to show how concerned she was. 'I'm sure she sensed it too since she's a sensory type.'

"What's wrong Kankuro~ don't frown! You came after me! You should be honored ~" she said grinning from ear to ear. Kankuro, let out a quiet 'Tch' and walked away, the blonde-haired girl followed as well. The only person that stayed behind was.. the redhead.

"I'm glad your alive Gaara," Airin said with a kind smile on her lips. The boy didn't even flinch all he did was walk forward and stop right in front of Airin, Minoko and I took defensive positions, which Airin raised her to tell us 'there's no need' we stood upright again but I couldn't help my tensed muscles.

They just looked at each other silence in the room but what was strange was that Airin's chakra spiked so I activated my Byakugan again my eyes widened looking at her monstrous chakra seep out of her the re- I'm Gaara's chakra seemed to shrink and with that, the boy held his head in pain and looked at Airin with all the killing intent he had but he calmed down and stood up again the expressionless, replacing the one in pain.

He started to walk away from Airin and uttering the words that made my spine shiver...

"I'll kill you."

Present

I can't stop thinking about it. I wonder what happened to him to have so much killing intent and anger. But, to be honest I didn't care as long as I don't have to fight him because I know I would never stand a chance. '*sigh I will win these exams no matter what.'

Airin's POV

The gramps Hokage stood before about to announce the final exam. To be honest I'm pretty excited and nervous at the same time. It's not like I'm afraid to fight, No, I'm just afraid that I would have a hard time trying to hold back. I've been concealing my chakra, they've sealed my wood style not completely I can do simple jutsus either than that I rely on my lighting style and medical ninjutsu with my fast reflexes. I'd be able to win. 'I wish I was able to show people that I am a Senju.' I was taking out my thoughts by the old man.
