I sat outside the office waiting for my partner to be dismissed. She came out and walked to a vending machine and got two chocolate bars chucked one to me and sat down. Someone else walked in and she rested her head on my shoulder, I started to stroke her long blonde hair like a cat. The threads of silk seeping through the gaps between my fingers.

"How much trouble am I in?" I ask the girl of my dreams (and sometimes nightmares.)

"I don't know, a bit." She sniggers.

"Whoops!" I giggled

I don't stop playing with her hair, it calms me down, I was rather worried about seeing the old man again on my own. But curling the golden hair around my fingers soothes me.

It comes to the point when I have to enter into the black walled room. Dark carpet under foot, black velvet wall paper around every wall but one, that one was painted grey. Such a formal room but so much like a posh prison.

"Agent" he said in a meaningfull yet hoarse voice.

"Sir," I tried hard to sound confident.

"It has come to my attention that in multiple circumstances, you have revealed too much information to you're projects. And so, I am taking you off the team."

"What?"

"You heard me Agent Gray, off the team."

"O-off the team?"

"Indeed Bear."

"What will I  do now? Wait, who will work with Wilderness?"

"Wilderness will have a new partner, and you will be working in tech." He said clearly like it had been rehearsed multiple times.

I walked out speechless and without being dismissed, "What did he say?" Wilderness asked.

"Your uncle fired me." I said flatly.

"What?"

I gulped, "He took me off the team, I'm going to be working in tech."

"What?" She questioned, "Who do I have to work with now? Ugh uncle why?"

"It's okay, but I don't think we can work out now... You know, now we won't be on the field together..."
